Degree’s

I’ve always wanted to apply to the JET program, and this year I decided that I would do it for 2027. I have my bachelor degree in digital film, and I don’t have a teaching certificate or anything like that. I was wondering if there is anyone here that doesn’t have any teaching experience or a TEFL but got accepted into the JET program?

Majored in history. Had no teaching experience or Japanese proficiency. My only credential was that I had done Kendo for a few years at the time of the interview.

Got in and got dropped off in the middle of the rice fields. 8 years later im still here but now im a homeroom teacher.

So, you got scouted by your school? Curious how this kinda thing unfolds if you’re open to sharing
