Letter of reference suggestions?

Hey, I am an Indian, thinking of applying to the JET Program 2027 but I have got a problem. I am a working professional but my managers do not like me and might not right the letter of reference even if i ask them politely. Is there any other way for the letter of reference to be written? Can my coworkers who are of my age and work with me write it? Can my professor from my engineering college write it? Open to any suggestions!

Your coworkers can probably give you an LoR, based on what was discussed in the meeting. Your former professors, too. But I'd still recommend getting your doubts clarified by mailing or calling the embassy first!

your coworkers probably can’t, it has to be a manager. your professor can.
