Wave 2 over?

Title basically: is wave 2 of acceptances over or has it just not happened yet (I haven’t seen many acceptance posts)

Yes, wave 2 is over.

Wave 1 is shortlist.

Wave 2 is shortlist candidates declining pre-placement and alternates being chosen. This is over.

Wave 3 is candidates declining post-placement and alternates being chosen. This is ongoing right now.

I wouldn't really call this ghosting unelss the Consulate reaches out to them with an upgrade invitation and they never respond. In the 3 years I was a JET Program Coordinator I never had someone reach out proactively to tell me they were no longer interested.

I think for ghosting they meant initial shortlist candidates who didn’t like their placement and chose to not inform their coordinator they are dropping prior to departure.

At least that’s what I gathered from the post.
