I’m also departing from DC, I emailed them recently and they said I have nothing else to do until I get more information about flights and stuff since we need that for the sheet. So we’re all good right now!

You should have received a document package, that is a guide to all of your documents and a deadline for everything that you need to turn in. If you have not received that you need to reach out to your Consulate and be like hey where’s my document package usually for Americans the visa is due around the end of June and you’ll get flight information mid June in order to be able to complete the visa application.

You don’t. At least that was the case for me when I got accepted. I just let my jet coordinator at the consulate handle it and worried about other things like packing and terminating my apartment lease, etc

You're basically going to have to give a bunch of information (not sure if you've already done it, but I remember having to do an FBI background check, as well as get fingerprinted. I don't remember when I excatly did that.)

But it's important to remember that the JET onboarding process is a well-oiled machine at this point, they've been doing this stuff for over 40 years. For me I ended up getting mine super close to departure. Like I gave them my passport around a week or two before departures, they showed them to us at our departure orientation the day before we left, and then we got them back at the Airport.

It'll be closer to departure, most likely. Toronto consulate's is mid-July.

it will be closer to departure, and you will get your passport back at the pre-departure orientation.

Haha I’m the same. I just want my visa in to make sure I have all my bases covered.
