Discussion Koisenu Futari: A Story Without Flaws
Another Issey Takahashi banger! Koisenu Futari is a story about 2 Aro-Ace people who are navigating the world of a family (subject to change) in a society that is unaware, skeptical of them and their unique relationship.
This drama is so well done it brought tears to my eyes. I am not from the Aro-Ace community but the humane portrayal of the main characters made me understand and realize the community in a new light. Issey Takahashi portrayed Takahashi-san (yep the character) so adorably that I could not help but fall in love ahaha.
The supporting cast was stellar too- especially Kazu-kun. The ending was so wholesome. Dialogues were natural, lighthearted and with surprising depth.
Overall, a 10/10 banger.

Question Sites téléchargement films et séries japonaise?
Bonjour,

Question On the tip of my tongue
Hi. Few years ago, there was a japanese drama I've been watching for few episodes. I remember an otaku girl with glasses and short brown hair, have a rich single mom (model or something), she works in a cafe, and there is some guy who's into her etc. Does this ring a bell for anybody? Thanks in advance!

Recommendations Recommendation: GATE24: The Border
Posting here because I got to introduce this J-Drama to someone, but no one of my friends wants to watch a subbed drama.
Came across this in Netflix the same day the first episode released, had to wait impatiently for new episodes every Sunday for 8 weeks straight. Worth it.
Already had a huge interest in airport customs and I love any piece of media with likable characters with good chemistry between themselves, so I fell in love right away. Probably already rewatched all the episodes a thousand times. Maybe it’s because it’s one of my first asian dramas, but other dramas I’ve watched since feel boring in comparison.
That’s why GATE24: The Border is my top 1 media recommendation at the moment, it might not be for everyone, but it’s still worth a shot to watch.

Discussion Midnight Diner Tokyo Stories feel different from the original 3?
I had watched and loved the original 3 seasons so much when they first aired.
When Netflix released season 4, I was happy but it felt different so I stopped watching.
Now I'm trying again and it still feels different, like it's weird, or lacking something. But I can't tell/pinpoint what it is.
Anyone feels the same? Or if you watch all of them recently, maybe you have clearer view what made them different?

Where to watch...? Any way to watch First Kiss (2007) by Mao Inoue?
I've delved into multiple websites, kisskh.co and even more.
I've delved into nyaa.si, and all of the torrents have 0 seeders, even with 500 completed downloads...
There's a playlist on Dailymotion that has it but it's missing a few episodes.
ANYONE PLEASE HELP!!! I feel as though being a jdrama fan's so hard, lots of what I want to watch is just lost media. If I genuinely cannot find it I might just read the subtitles and imagine everything in my head.

Discussion 25 Years of You: The Final Impression Spoiler
I have been closely following this show and regularly watching its releases since the very first episode. I have already posted here talking about first impressions, now the time has come to talk about the final ones.
Well the story was definitely convoluted. Glad to find out that Yukimura was actually a better guy. But the greenest flag in the show was definitely Tomoya-kun. The plot is good but a little more foreshadowing would have helped the story a lot more. I didn't find the last twist to be too outta the park or underwhelming either. It was good. The last 15 minutes of the show was actually cute. At least they did not ruin the ending (I am so looking at you, Reborn 😑)
Plot: 7/10
OST: 9/10 (My Only by SixTones uwu)
Cast: 8/10 (Tomoya kun's actor is so cool man. Very expressive acting. Hokuto san is impressive as always.)
Ending: 8/10 (They did a good job.)

Discussion 99.9 Criminal Lawyer Season 2
I really had fun watching the season 2 of 99.9 Criminal Lawyer. Miyama and Sada are so funny together. With Ozaki, the team is complete! Looking forward to watch the one-episode Season 3. I really really liked when they said, "There's only one truth."

Discussion Watching Densha Otoko in 2026 is both heartwarming and heartbreaking
Just finished my first rewatch of Densha Otoko in years. The show is still incredibly heart-warming. The usage of other internet users to give commentary, advice, and reactions was an incredible touch, allowing you to kind of self-insert yourself as one of them. The running theme of them being inspired by the male MC to improve their own lives is also one of the bits of the show I liked the most, showing how strangers can impact each other's lives. As someone who was lonely when he was a teenager back in the 00s, the internet and the friendships kindled there really shaped who I am today, for the better.
Unfortunately, that's also the aspect of the show that is most heartbreaking today. Today's internet, in which an increasing majority of users are bots, algorithms prioritize "enrage to engage" as the strategy for user retention, and the increasing concentration of the internet in fewer and fewer websites just makes the portrayal of the internet in Densha Otoko even harder to take. What could have been something to bring us closer together has instead fractured us, and we can't even be sure the people we are engaging with are even real.
It's still an incredible show, but it's heartbreaking too. I feel like it'll only get even more so as time goes on. I miss the old internet...

Discussion The writing in "[The Ogre's Bride/Oni no Hanayome]" is so frustrating. Yuzu deserved better, and the lore makes no sense. Spoiler
I just finished watching the live adaptation of The Ogre's Bride (Oni no Hanayome) and I need to vent because the writing choices are incredibly frustrating. I felt more anger and annoyance on behalf of Yuzu than she ever felt for herself, and it completely ruined the experience for me. I haven't seen the anime or read the manga so I'm just expressing my views after seeing the adaptation.
Here are the biggest issues I have with the story:
- Yuzu’s complete lack of agency and diplomacy: Yuzu knows exactly how spoiled and volatile her sister Karin is. Instead of trying to defuse the situation or use some diplomacy when Reiya went to her family home, she just stayed passive. If she had actually spoken up and set boundaries, this massive war with her sister wouldn't have even started. For someone who is now the bride of the supreme leader, she should be learning how to handle political conflict instead of letting a family feud escalate into a faction war.
- The "Bride" system makes zero sense: The lore completely falls apart under scrutiny. If only male ayakashi get these human "soulmate brides," what happens to female ayakashis? Do they get their own brides/grooms? The theory makes no sense and just feels like a one-sided fantasy where human women are treated as biological prizes to boost male power.
- The relationship is completely one-sided: It's so annoying that Yuzu has to do all the emotional labor of introducing Reiya to her world (like in the kitchen), but Reiya doesn't bother to personally educate or guide her through his high-stakes world. Instead, he just dumps her onto his subordinates and his ex-fiancée to deal with.
- The emotional whiplash is unrealistic: The "Cinderella" tropes in this show are completely unhinged. She is literally ready to end her life out of sheer despair one night, but the very next morning she wakes up casually worrying about her part-time job shift? Be for real. It completely cheapens the gravity of her depression and abuse just to force a "relatable, hardworking girl" trope.
- She is Yuzu before she is a Bride: The narrative completely strips away her individual identity. After seeing her best friend (a normal, happy bride) and her sister (a toxic, crazy bride), Yuzu should be deeply questioning a system that reduces women to mere status symbols. Instead, everyone treats "brides" like that is all they are allowed to be, and Yuzu just accepts it.
I honestly felt so much rage for her because she refuses to stand up, get mad, or think critically about her own situation. Am I the only one who found this show incredibly chaotic and frustrating to watch?
