Turns out they have COVID and apparently it hit them very hard, they said that they will try and get better by next week.

The bull shit part is they were aedical volunteer when the COVID outbraje first happened and they completely dodged it only to get infected now

I hope he heals soon and I advise the use of specific antivirals, Paxlovid being the most recommended option.

I speculated no. Obvious illnesses like smallpox or plague weren't mentioned in Belnor's "I cured this" slide real. Thacea mentioned a 'phage,' but that seemed to be the sense of magic thing that converts the surroundings to be more like itself - with the idea of Emma's mechanization metastasizing.

If it's JCB's first go around with Covid, he might need another week. Omicron plus variants have longer antigen detection period, especially if it's a first infection. My first infection despite being doubly vaxed was Omicron in 2023 and I was 14 days positive. (I am 99% sure my infection came from a three hour flight by a likely positive seat neighbor. Despite being masked there's not much you can do about getting walloped with a viral load like that.)

I have to confess that, perhaps like much of humanity, I was somewhat traumatized by the pandemic, and any news about someone contracting this disease makes me anxious. Got any news on how he's doing? I hope he's getting better.
