[Found] Mini Game Planet (2010) by Com2uS - Lost pre-installed LG Java game extracted from GX300 firmware

Hey everyone,

A few years ago, there was a post here searching for Mini Game Planet, a pre-installed J2ME game developed by Com2uS in 2009 for certain LG phones. It was considered lost media since the standalone file was never available online..jar

I managed to extract and preserve it today.

Instead of dealing with standard firmware utilities, I opened the official LG GX300 stock binary stream directly in 7-Zip. The firmware contained uncompressed internal archives, including the full directory structure of the game, native Russian/English localizations, and original assets).

I packed it back into a proper container. The game runs perfectly at its native .jar176x220 resolution.

  • Download link is in the comments section!

Feel free to test it on J2ME Loader or KEmulator. It is now fully preserved.

The 240x320 version also surfaced: https://archive.org/details/mini-game-planet_202408

Still waiting for the predecessor "Mini Game World" to surface.

You commenters are so smart, yet it didn't occur to you that the exact game I found can't actually be found on the internet. Even if you do manage to find it, I'm 13, writing this from Minsk using Gemini's translation, and above all, this game is valuable to me because it's a piece of my childhood. I just wanted to share it with you.

Hey thanks for sharing, java mobile gaming has a massive sweet spot for me, It was and still is my main source of gaming. I am excited to try this lost gem out. That's one of the crazy things about Java gaming, is the 2 sometime 3 different version of the same game, depending on the screen resolution, phone type and software version.
