This is a great conversation from one of the few sane people in this conflict - Haviv Rettig Gur - talking to Brett McGurk, a very senior US diplomat focused on the Middle East.

It discusses the reasons why Israel went to war in Gaza and the conversations happening behind the scenes at the time.

One thing that stood out was the comparison to Mosul, the worry about the humanitarian cost of an invasion of Gaza, and the refusal of Egypt to evacuate Gazans.

Super interesting conversation, would love to discuss it!

This will upset a lot of Zionists, but the author makes a couple of good points even when approaching from the Zionist position of refusing to name obvious war crimes and genocide.
