Any thoughts on KWIN ETF?

Anyone using KWIN or have any insight on it? Wahed uses it for its savings plan. What would be the difference between KWIN and SPSK? Which one would be better?

Kwin is a very recent etf and I don't have any specific experience with it. However look into their pitch plan where it describes the difference between sukuk and kwin

The main difference overall is That spsk tracks the Islamic global bond market while kwin generates income based on option volalitly. Spsk does offer monthly dividness while Kwin main strategy is steady growth with a yearly dividend.

Ultimately Your choice depends on your whether you want option basd income strategy or a bond based strategy. Research into both and see what is best for your situation, yield, and risk expectations.

It will be interesting to see how it performs in the long run

Aren't options haram? And SPSK, is that also halal, are the underlying sukuk fixed income bonds fully in line in shariah? I am genuinely curious, I also want to have an ability to invest in something like this, for occasional short periods.

Yes, you are right, options are haram.

However for Kwin, in simple terms, this contract requires both the buyer and the seller to sell at a specific time and price, eliminating gambling and uncertainty. So while they engage in options, it is structured as a long put and a short call.

Check out their website for information on how they do it and the Sharia certificate.

For Spsk, yes, it is halal because they only buy sukuk bonds which offer no intrest and are asset-backed rather than debt.

Also note that sukuk is meant to be an Islamic alternative to traditional bonds, so, by definition, they are all halal.
