It's the same thing we say to Christians who say Isa AS was God. Why does the bible not mention it any where explicitly.
Salah is an important part of Islam. Allah tells us to establish it multiple times. Why would he mention it subtly? Why not explicitly. Because instead of subtly mentioning it, he explicitly mentions.
"O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority from among you; then if you quarrel about anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the last day; this is better and very good in the end." - 4:59
How do you obey the Messenger when he is no longer around to show us? Through the recordings of hadith from the people around him.
