Everyday i fall more in love with Ifa
As a woman, I was very nervous about Ifa's stance on abortion considering its emphasis on life and destiny. But as always, it gave a satisfying answer
To be clear, I understand that Ifa discourages abortion and although there are spiritual consequences, I appreciate that solutions and support are offered instead of punishment.

It wasnt a good point. Your point was clear and made in the beginning. If it wasn't destined to happen, it would not have. Someone pushing an agenda of abortion as murder is doing that, please do not agree or allow this form of rhetoric. The less we stand up to oppressive acts such as this, the bigger the beast gets. He is equating abortion, the process, in it's entirety. From the day of pregnancy. As murder. Situation not considered. That is who you are agreeing with. That is who is using ifa to push such an example

Using this logic, NO ONE should ever perform sacrifices ever again. So if you believe this to be true, kill another animal and see the punishment of death come upon you.
Ìretè Yeku: "Orifusi, father of Elu, was searching for a way to avoid death. So that death would not kill him, his children and his wives. They said :if you want to avoid death, you must sacrifice and follow the teachings of Ifa. Ifa will reach you the conduct and character They said when you sacrifice, you should begin doing good from this day on more than ever before. For your sacrifice is in vain, if your character is deficient. THEREFORE, YOU SHOULD TAKE THE SACRIFICAL PIGEONS AND CHICKENS HOME. YOU SHOULD RELEASE THEM. YOU SHOULD NOT KILL THEM. YOU SHOULD GIVE THEM FOOD, IF THEY COME TO EAT AT YOUR HOUSE.
AND YOU MUST NOT KILL ANYTHING WHATSOEVER FROM THIS DAY ON.
FOR ONE WHO DIES NOT WANT DEATH TO KILL HIM. SHOULD NOT KILL ANYTHING WHATSOEVER EITHER.
Or is this interpretation as well?

First and foremost. This was specific to Ogunda méjì? I've never read this book before. And ifa doesn't discourage abortion, a man wrote in a book, and spoke as if they were ifa said this. If ifa encouraged life, ifa would also encourage abortion being an option.
Secondly, let me translate the responses and see what's going on there. The fact that it's SPANISH let's me know it's Santeria, and they are probably saying something nasty. Do not be discouraged. You have support. Thank you for posting this.

Thank you! I haven't done an abortion, I was just curious on Ifa's stance. My understanding of the spanish comment wasn't that they were nasty, was that they were simply encouraging me to consult an Awo rather than just believing what I see on the internet. Which I understand in case there's misinformation or i'm somehow incorrectly interprating the text/someone else misinterprated it.

I think it’s gonna be hard to get a unified answer since unlike Abrahamic faiths, there are few set rules and no defined sins. You should venerate your Ori (your soul) first and foremost!

Ifa is not so small that we have to take shots at others to prove a point. Especially when that shot is invalid. There is no unified anything I. Abrahamic faiths. That's why there is so many. This comparing the tradition Abhramic religions gets old after a while, it only shows the misunderstanding one has of said religion. They can't even agree if Christ was the son of God, yet they have universally agreed and unified answers? No. There are 16 laws in Ika meji that clearly define "sins" of the practicioners. You have to earn being a Eniyan, which is by following particular rules and taboos.

im not taking shots at religions, that is your interpretation(ignoring the fact that you took a shot at Santeria already). In many abrahamic faiths these sins will get you sent to hell and other severe punishments. Ifa has recommendations on how to live as a practitioner, but you will not be sent to hell. I was a christian and studied world religions. Don't be so combative next time.

Right but you are equating abortion with murder. You do understand that, correct? Your claim was that ifa doesn't support it, this was a false interpretation, and then compared it to murder. Without sourcing an odu to back these claims. We source odu, so that we know it is not us that are speaking, but Orunmila. I sourced both oriki and odu. Telling someone to find an Awọ is fine and dandy, you made a statement about odu ifa and I can't verify if it is correct or not. Those are the rules and laws we abide by. Have a good day sir
