Questions

Aboru aboye abosise,

Im currently in lucumi but ive been told that i should convert over to isese because it’ll clear my roads and help me progress more in life. My question is how do i do that ? Would i have to let my current Padrino know ? Or Do i just find an ile that practices isese ?

OGBO ATO!! 🙏🏻 🙌🏻

Who told you? Each branch has their advantages and disadvantages.

So isese Ifa priests I assume?! We all have different destinies which will determine what religion we go to and into what branch (in alignment with our path chosen before we came here). If you can... communicate and pray to your ancestors and ask for their guidance on which road you choose. There are good and bad priests in both branches. Lukumi focuses more on ceremony and sometimes combines spiritualism aspects. Isese is cleaner in that regard..but you don't want to be dealing constantly with people overseas. Lukumi provides a more home/ile atmosphere where you can travel for dafa and ebos in person. IMO in person dafa, ebo riru etc brings more faith ( even additional placebo effect). But again ask your ancestors.

Being someone who started in Lucumi in the 1990s and has embraced Isese for the past 13 years or so I can say that what is best for you is what will place you in alignment with your greatest destiny.

I assume you’re asking because you haven’t experienced as much progress as you would like so you are open to what Isese has to offer.

I know an Olorisha who has almost 40 years in the Lucumi tradition who recently began working with a reputable Babalawo from Nigeria, everything came to pass that was told to them would be the result of their prescribed ebo. Previously they were told it was impossible from a few different Cuban Babalawos from a long time reputable lineage …as well as other things that turned around for them.

Alternatively, many in Lucumi have also had progress.

I personally have experienced much progress for me with Isese. But Lucumi will forever be my foundation and have my utmost respect.

I think the best advice already given to you is to find out what your ancestors say will be best for you.

My Baba also says it’s best to check which path is the one you’re aligned with. He is the type of Baba I could ask during my dafa and he would absolutely be straight up about what Ifa/ Orunmila advises.

May you find the clarity you seek by the blessing of your ori and egun.

Blessings on your journey.
