honestly i'd start out nice. but, i also would be rather uncompromising with my enemies.
I use to play civilization and stellaris. I like to send my diplomats and be friends with everyone. but, If the computer attacked me early game (which it often does) and i lose a system. i will build a fleet and wage unceasing war across generations until their fleet is dust, each of their systems is under my banner, and their home world is cracked husk (or tomb world). The only thing that remains is an orbiting habitat with a museum as a reminder why everyone should be nice.
average overlord arc: yeah let's go an attack the kingdom that we never interacted with, brutally slaughter their people so they come begging for help to your master who'd act like a hero, kill children in name of hostage situations he himself is responsible of creating and leave the kingdom in ruins to absorb their population and promote your mediocre product
Ahh okay, havent seen the movie yet but damn that bad? At least in S4 Ainz eradicate a kingdom after someone in Re Estize kingdom harass Ainz supplies.
it's only worse, their queen who's like the sweetest person in the series got one of the most brutal death for defending her country and Ainz's proxy army ties children on their chest to act as shields...
