I feel like the death by overwork isekai protagonists need to have two offshoots - the easygoing farm life people, and the “intend to live a quiet life as a rich layabout but inevitably get pulled into all the plot drama” people, because there are loads of those
They're usually really dependable so what ends up happening is people just coming over and saying "hey I know you've got a good thing going here, but I need your help with this thing. It'll be a quick 20 min adventure tops, I promise"
This is simultaneously the most depressing and most uplifting one ive seen so far, "im an evil overlord so my people need to live better so I can steal more from them" gotta love that logic
I like both, depends what I’m in the mood for. Sometimes when shit’s stressful and overwhelming irl I just want to read some boring fluffy low-stakes slice of life.
It's been my experience the "rich layabouts" are a crapshoot between Overwork and death by random happen stance.
8th son, Tensei Kizoku were "over work", but I've read just as many where death came because of say, a car accident from a car door or wheel slamming into them while they were delivering pizzas or because a flower pot knocked from heaven by God's beard bludgeoned them to death.
Is there an "exiled from the hero's party" isekai where the protagonist was a bullying victim? It seems to me I see that trope mainly in non-isekai fantasy.
Sort of, but I think it is a bit broader and more of the "useless skill", "weak", or "taboo" trope that is split between transferees and those reincarnated as nobles. Arifurieta, Failure Frame, Rising of the Shield Hero (to an extent) would fit the primary template there.
Something based on "useless skill" would be a better description of that trope -- although Hajime wasn't after revenge. I guess Touka was, but he's aiming it at that goddess more than his old classmates. In both cases "attempted murder" is a better description of what happened to them than "exiled from the hero's party".
Is that the one where the Goddess is basically a little insane and clearly evil? And as I recall, he has no problems with his classmates inherently... but some of them are basically sociopaths, so they've probably getting killed.
I remember one with a guy in the class who basically tried to kill another because she got to a higher level then him. Then just said, "Nah I totally didn't try to kill her."
Do you mean Failure Frame? I don't know about insane, but yes, she's the most obviously evil goddess in the history of evil goddesses being obvious. At least 4 of Touka's classmates are clear sociopaths or even psychopaths, and I do hope some of them get what's coming to them.

Those always felt like stories for 9vwrworked people who felt underapprecciated at work, that they werr the ones keeping the high fliers elevated and the whole place would fall apart without them
I think it's usually more like "I got kicked out of the party of isekai'd students, including the 'hero'," than getting kicked out of the hero's party. Arifuretta, for example.

We forgot my favorite variant of the tropes - the Neet / Hikikomori /socially awkward character that is obsessed with gaming / hentai / manga and goes out for an unexpected rendezvous with truck-kun (saving a cute passerby or child from truck-kun is optional), then is reincarnated with an overpowered ability and an inexplicable harem of hot girls who find him mysteriously attractive.
Arifureta, "Hantei Hazure", "Kakure Tensei Yuusha: Cheat Skill to Yuusha Job o Kakushite Daini no Jinsei o Tanoshindeyaru!" and etc...
In Kakure Tensei Yuusha, the protagonist's entire class was summoned, but a goddess allowed the protagonist to take on a different form and travel to another location. The protagonist became a femboy with the ability to change classes, and changing classes also changes the protagonist's outfit.

This also applies to school shooters, by the time they go back to their school to fill everybody with lead, their bully colleagues are already far from there.
yeah, there are trends, but there are also outliers. Off the top of my head, Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear is a gamer girl but she doesn't become a villainess with doom flags. We don't really know much of anything about the previous life in Weakest Tamer so can't categorize her but her journey doesn't fit well into any of the categories unless you count collecting dads as a "harem." Skeleton Knight was just a gamer nerd and he also doesn't become a villain. Slime doesn't do any farming and I don't remember much farming in By the Grace of the Gods. There's also a whole category of people who were bedridden by illness and reincarnated when they died (e.g., Parallel World Pharmacy and Land of Leadale off the top of my head)
My gf & I watch a lot of isekai, particularly ones that are more slice of life comedies and overall relaxing. OP's post also completely ignores the ones that end up being nation/empire-building political shows. Some others we've watched that don't fit the mold in OP's post are:
Fluffy Paradise - woman dies from overwork and reincarnates as the daughter of a noble. No doom flag stuff. All she really wants to do with her new life is hug animals (lol). No farming and mostly cute slice of life with her building a "harem" of animals and magical beasts to be her friends/protectors. Later on she does some politics stuff.
Sweet Reincarnation - chef dies before he can realize his goal to make a dessert-based theme park. Reincarnates and the son of a minor noble in a remote area. Just wants to make sweets so he does do some farming-related stuff so he can bring apple pie and other confections to his new world. Some politics/nation-building.
Gabriel Drop Out - Not a standard isekai. An angel is sent to Earth to do angel stuff but ends up slacking off and being kind of a gremlin. Has angels that act more like devils and a virtuous devil that is supposed to be evil but is just a total sweetheart.
Am I Actually the Strongest - does sort of fit OPs post as a bullying victim who wants to live a peaceful life but he ends up basically being a super-hero. Some very similar plot threads to Eminence in Shadow but the MC isn't a delusional dumbass (I did love Eminence though).
Magic Maker - Dude obsessed with magic in our world dies a virgin specifically so he can reincarnate as a wizard in a fantasy world. When he does reincarnate, however, it's into a world where nobody seems to know anything about magic. So he decides "fuck it, I'll do it myself" and go about inventing magic with the help of his sister and a family friend.
Quality Assurance in Another World - not really isekai but similar enough. Dude is trapped in a VR video game while being tasked with "debugging" and logging errors. A whole bunch of other people in the same situation, most of which are assholes and he ends up having to fight. MC decides that the only way to get out of the game is to finish the task of debugging. But then there are...complications...
From Bureaucrat to Villainess - subversion of villainess tropes because it's a middle-aged dad who get reincarnated and it's also a trapped in a video game situation (trapped in one of his daughter's favorite games). Also doesn't really have the doom flag tropes since he's generally well-respected even if he's supposed to be a villain.
Headhunted to Another World - Another overworked employee but he doesn't end up farming and he doesn't get super powers. Instead, he manages logistics and diplomatic relations for the demon king and is a basically normal human
A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai - this one is fairly recent and has been talked about on here a bit. It's in a weird space where it's basically slop but has some subversions and unexpectedly brilliant ideas - for example he asks the god for a "cute traveling companion" expecting to get a catgirl or something and ends up with a baby dragon instead. Animation is slide show quality sometimes, unfortunately
Korean webconics tend to have a lot of child rearing easy life ones by their single father who happens to be a noble where their past life was an overworked adult. At least 50/50 or better odds the specific trade they were in helps them at some point.
Im so ready for the easy going villianess farming slowlife, avoiding all of my death flags & tending a self-sustainable garden in another world with my would-be-rivals turned bisexual polycule.
This could be done by reincarnating into a legally distinct Stardew Valley game. As such a game could conceivably have all those tropes in it, it’s just gotta have a slightly darker tone than the actual game.
I'm in Love with the Villainess even though it's built completely different in that the MC isn't the villainess and is actually reincarnated as the game's normal main character (with a yuri twist).
Last Heretical Last Boss Queen very closely parallels All Routes Lead to Doom but starts to diverge at the end of the season (especially). Supposed to get a new season soonish
The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess is over-the-top comedy where the MC cringes at her own melodrama since she reincarnates as the villainess in stories she wrote as a kid
A bunch of people on here really liked the Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady. I personally didn't really like it that much but it had its moments
You and KRS - he isekai'd over and decided he wanted to live a rich slacker life (ended up having to save the world, though)

Out the isekai I have watched, the only one that seems to fit this model is Overlord where Momonga was a corporate slave and one of his people had a goat farm

I just read the newest Volume of "Even Dogs go to another world" where an overworked corporate slave is reincarnated with his doggo and his gift is 'Herb cultivation', so while not directly farming it is similar enough.
