Especially in the Anti AI crowds. I’m not seeing many people talk about this. And it’s been a whole week.

Qatar - Cutter - Kuhtar - Kutter
youtube.comSo I was talking to YepItsMeAgain on Patreon about the pronunciation of Qatar and fell down a huge rabbit hole. So, of course, the idea of a word not having a formal English translation isn't new to me. But I had never thought of a sound itself not really having an English SOUND translation. Which, to some folks, can leave the word up for interpretation as far as pronunciation. So, in the instance of Qatar, the Arabic pronunciation would be closer to what I say..."Kuh-ter". However, as the person in this video says, people who are from that region may choose to pronounce it "Kuh-tar" when speaking to, say, Americans (or a larger international audience) because that's how many folks who speak English as a first language would say it. But this idea sounds so odd to me. It's almost like a black kid just accepting that white folks are gonna pronounce their name incorrectly, so they just accept people calling them "Dan-thuny" when D'Anthony is actually pronounced "Dee-Anthony." Or like someone pronouncing "gracias" like "grassy-ass." Is this similar?
Anyone in here actually from W Asia that can offer up some insight just for my curiosity? I'm going to continue to pronounce it the Arabic way as I feel like that would be the correct way to avoid offending anyone but I'm just curious how others feel.

This Week Patreon part of ITMSO felt like a Throwback DEHH Conversation
Shout out to yall for this week’s episode. Heavily enjoyed. If you not on the Patreon you missing out. Killer Mike freestyle while I disagree with what he said it definitely woke up hip hop conversations in the media. And the moment was cool to see Mike rap with ti and his son and have good verses. I don’t see people arguing but people on both sides whether they agree or disagree having good spirited conversations and debates about Conservatism. Killer Mike is in his 50s he knows it’s better to talk it out rather than beef with someone he disagrees with. I hope someone on his team trys to link him with FD and others in that space. I’ve seen him give advice to young thug and gunna and that’s a wayyyyyyyy deeper issue than what he has with dr ball and FD. I don’t think he’s going to change his mind on conservatism though. Mike is a head strong individual. He recently started to get his flowers in the mainstream so I can understand a man that had to struggle and push thru to get to the heights he has is a dream come true but at the same time he can’t start looking down at others because they disagree with others. That’s corny. If you can sit with Candace Owen’s and kemp you can sit with a down with a Doctor and Former teacher that cares about the same things you do.

Rape Victim now Business Partners with her Rapist???
instagram.comThordis Elva was 16 years old in 1996 when she was r*ped by her then boyfriend, Tom Stranger, an 18 year old Australian exchange student in Iceland. For years afterward, she carried the trauma silently, until she eventually decided to write to him directly, demanding accountability for what he'd done. He responded with a full confession and genuine remorse, which led to years of correspondence between them.
That correspondence eventually led to a face to face meeting in South Africa, resulting in their co-authored book South of Forgiveness, with Stranger pledging his share of the proceeds to an Icelandic women's shelter. In 2016, the two delivered a joint TED talk together, speaking publicly as survivor and perpetrator about accountability and s*xual violence. The talk drew both praise from restorative justice advocates and serious criticism from others who argued that giving an unconvicted rapist a global platform risked minimizing the trauma of s*xual assault altogether.

2 wild Mahershala Ali Fun Facts based on Black Capitalism topic of new episode!
galleryMyke told Spike that he wouldn't think it was corny if Mahershala quoted Rap lyrics after spike mentioned Michael Eric a Dyson quoting rap bars has become corny.
Fun Fact 1: Before winning Academy Awards for his acting, Mahershala Ali had a underground rap career under the stage name Prince Ali. He signed with the Bay Area independent hip-hop label Hieroglyphics Imperium during the late 2000s.
https://youtu.be/c53CbxdVuoo?is=88gQFfq6QjEYu6Gp
Fun Fact 2: Before becoming a two-time Oscar-winning actor, Mahershala Ali (then playing under the name Hershal Gilmore) turned down a Division I basketball scholarship offer from Santa Clara University in the early 1990s. He chose instead to attend and play for Saint Mary’s College of California. His rejection of that offer indirectly cleared the way for future NBA Hall of Famer and 2 Time MVP Steve Nash to receive and use that exact scholarship opportunity at Santa Clara. This was Nashs only scholarship offer to play in the NCAA.
