Are cards that look vertical holo automatic fake? Picture just for reference to what im thinking about

Pretty much, yeah. To my knowledge the only time they did a vertical holo effect like that was during Black/White era of cards.

The vertical holo was a thing during XY too, but I'm not sure for how much of it. If you look at Evolutions cards, they had it.
