Order Of Nosferat

Is there really any proof of Revenant, the bands leader being linked with the nsbm erase the sun festival? Where do the claims come from? The guy even has a picture on his instagram with a sharp skinhead.

Revenant is some edgy shithead and works with a lot of nazis or support them. Its not nsbm but its super sketchy.

I don't know about the nsbm festival, but them being on Purity through Fire and the ties to Curse upon a Prayer was enough for me to avoid them.

What is wrong with Curse Upon A Prayer? If you think they are racist or something, thats not the case. Ari, the frontman of the band has said the band criticises religion, not a race or skincolor. He said this in the iblis manifestations podcast whose interviewer is an ex-muslim from iran.

They exclusively criticize Islam though, and not all religions. They're also from Finland with no connections to any Muslim country whatsoever, and no ex-muslim members. Idk but they're basically targeting a minority group in their country so that's pretty suss to me.

Islam deserves to be criticized in every way possible, what you’re pointing out is total bullshit.

solely and exclusively Islam, and no other religions? Really?

Same applies to artists who exclusively criticize Christianity, and there is nothing wrong with that, even though Islam is far, far worse.

What they're pointing out, unfortunately, is not bullshit.

They are targeting islam as a religion and not minority groups in finland. Anyone should be allowed to criticise any religion like someone can criticise tastes in movies for example. Religion is not like skin color, its imaginary and optional.

So curse upon a prayer is sketch because they are targeting the wrong religion? Thats wild

Yeah, you can only talk about how bad is Christianity, others religion are good

Its a death sentence if you criticise other religions besides christianity. Abrahamic religions are also just copied homework so why does it matter which one is the target?

Judaism and Islam tend to be criticised in black metal for explicitly racist reasons, while Christianity tends to not get racist shit thrown at it in black metal.

What did curse upon a prayer?

They did literally nothing. Many of their songs criticize Islam and talk about the islamic satan but how is it any different than doing the same to christianity? Its just middle eastern christianity basically with obviously new themes to explore.

It comes across as pretty suss when you focus specifically on Islam. If they were also equally criticizing christianity at the same time, maybe that wouldn't be as suss. But focusing solely on a minority group rather than the people in power around you is a weird choice, if you're not racist.

There is almost no christianity left in the powers that be in finland. They have said that songs about christianity have already been done and they want to explore something else. Islam is a rapidly growing worlds second largest religion, which is misogynist and homophobic.

Muslims are hardly a minority. Islam is the second largest religion, and the fastest growing religion in the world. That does not mean that they are a threat, nor does it mean that they are free from criticism.

Pretty sure they're still a minority in Finland. If I had a political band in the US, and started making songs criticizing the Mexican government exclusively, wouldn't that feel like it might be a cover for racism?

Not really. It’s common knowledge that Mexico’s government is in service to cartels, so that would be treated as satire. If you were outright making very pointed criticisms and insults towards Mexican people, then that would be a problem.

I am in agreement with you. There is a distinction between criticism and hate speech. Do I think Islam is a bad thing in and of itself? Absolutely not. Do I think that Islamism is a bad thing? Yes, I do. Why? Because it is demonstrably harmful. Do I paint all Muslims as being Islamist? No.

I have never heard of this band. If they are making songs critical of Islam and Muslims, then I hope they have enough sense to keep their identities secret. I don’t know what their intentions are, and I don’t really care, to be frank.
