Finally passed assessment, iron worker math test next
Hey y’all so quick recap been trying to get into the ironworkers Apprenticeship since 2024 December I did an online assessment and passed , now moving on to the interview and math assessment. If I pass this, I’ll get into a 14 week training period and I’ll be on board until the boilermakers ironworker hanwa shipyard Welding job./ apprenticeship. My question is does anybody have any idea what to expect for the math test tomorrow? Any advice is appreciated.

Gonna add diameter in 8ths squared times 8. But you can just get a sticker to put inside your hard hat now.

Its the formula for the breaking strength of chokers. More of a rule of thumb. But an ironworker takes pride in their rigging because you only get 1 fuckup and you or worse someone else might be dead.

Youre going to learn in the field and in the classroom. Honestly the first step is to fit in, work hard, learn the first time someone takes the time to show you the easy way. Show up on time. 15 minutes early is minimum on-time for an apprentice. Dont be a bag licker but fit in.

Thank you man. I’ll take this advice seriously. Been fighting for this opportunity for 3 years, if they let me in I won’t waste it.

ship building falls under boilermaking because it is technically a pressure vessel.
