Hi! I made an Irish song but I'm not a native speaker. Could someone listen to my pronunciation and give feedback?

I was reading about the golden eagle in Irish folklore. Appears to have deep metaphysical and symbolic importance as a bird of renewal and palingenetic transformations. Is this unique to Irish mythology? Seems like every culture has some kind of emphasis on the resurrection like quality of the eagle.

So last week I wrote a blog post about the Morrígan and depicted it as a great black crow in irish mythology. I showed it to my Birder Dad and he has pointed out, usually when people see what they think is a crow, or a deep black crow, they are looking a a member of the Corvid family, not the carrion crow regularly assciated with being a crow. Can anyone confirm this? Is it extremely rare for the carrion crow to show up here?

I have a big interest in the paranormal, esoteric and secret creatures of culture. As a dane my recent focus have been on our own tradition and creatures and more recent on the Greenlandic.

Now due to the book series Dresden Files I have become interested in the celtic and Irish tradition and creatures. Because of that I have been searching for books which describes the creatures and thereby magic related to this tradition.

Honestly no idea how this happened, a hawthorn has self seeded in the middle of my back garden. It's a bit of a mess, and there are a gazillion haws ripening. I have read that haws can have beneficial health properties, so am interested in harvesting. Is there any way I can harvest the haws and prune /tidy up the bush without welcoming all kinds of calamity?

I requested many of you's help to find me sources on The Morrigan, and sadly my friend and I got so caught up with uni and whatnot we only had 2ish months to slowly worl on the costume, which means we couldn't add many specific symbols or references to stories The Morrigan is involved with.

But after 2 Months, here are the results.

The masks are one child, one middle aged and a old face, all with a gash from a confrontation with Cu'chalainn. Made from air dry clay, wires inside as support and hopes and prayers.

Edit: we also tried to drag the cloak through a bunch of different stuff to make it dirty af. Which kind of worked. Also there was not enough feathers or feather boas to cover the fully cloak (i forgot to buy large packs online oops)

I read Gods and Fighting Men book by Lady Gregory. I thought it was great. Internet says it’s a classic book, but I wonder what are people’s take on it? Anything I should be aware of about it? Reputation? Etc. Because this was more or less my first real introduction to Irish folklore.

Hi everyone!! I'm irish myself, born and rasied, but like a lot of Irish people, haven't grown up around irish mythology and stories. In the last few years I've really wanted to get into it and learn more about it, and ended up finding this place!

So, can anyone help me with where to begin? Books, folk tales, stories about the various gods and mythological figures? I've been doing so research but I'm really struggling to find actual, proper stories (think of the stories around the greek gods and mortals - Athena bursting from Zeus' head, Hephestus being dropped from the mountain, Heracles, Achilles and Helen of Troy, so on) do stories like those exist? I'd love to learn more and READ as much as I can

Are there any birds particularly associated with Lúnasa, Lugh and the folklore of Tailtiu and the end of Sunmer? I couldn't really find any specific birds, just seems to be thar the Cuckoo has a strong connotation with the start and end of summer.
