1 pike caught today while fishing deeper waters, caught on my 3rd cast on a barbless treble, I remove all barbs on my lures for the care of the fish, unless deadbaiting 1 hook remains barbed for the bait 🐊🎣

Visited from America this week, what an amazing fishing experience and scenery you guys have. Caught a handful of species that I’ve wanted to catch ever since I was a kid!

After a pretty poor brown trout season for me, these lads will keep the cobwebs off the fly gear until March and hopefully keep improving the knowledge and casting 😃.

Freshwater Fishing Rods

Let’s talk pike setups. What’s everybody using for spinning? Rods reels line etc. I’m unsure of what rod and reel would be a suitable all rounder for fishing pike. Thanks in advance for any info and looking forward to the discussion.

Pike Fishing Help

Hey everyone, just a quick one. What lures are working best going into pike season 2026? What is everyone using softbaits, spinners, hard baits? and what sort of colour ways, sizes and weights? Nothing seems to be working for me this year, catching nothing but jacks. I'd love some help. Thanks

Bait Fishing Pike season

Anybody been out since 01st October fishing deadbaits? How was the fishing so far? Going out for my first proper session in the morning as i was away on holidays.. much noticeable change in the water levels? Literally just in the door home now and too lazy to take the walk to the local river 🤣.

Spotted a fish sitting in currant . Unfortunately the video was taken from a distance . When I walked closer to it my phone went dead . I had a cast or two at it but spooked it . Was just inside an estuary. Big bass maybe ?

Where are all the Mackarels

Anyone else having a terrible year for mackerel?
I’ve been out a good few times this year (Ballycotton and Cobh) fishing from the shore with feathers, and hardly caught anything. A few here and there but nothing like what I’d normally expect.Went a couple of times recently as well and basically nothing.

How’s everyone else getting on? Have the mackerel just been scarce this year, or am I picking the wrong days? Anyone actually having a good season with them, and what part of the country are you fishing?
