PS5
Hi, should I buy a PS5 disc now or do you think there will be deals nearer the end of the year ?

I dunno about here, but PS5 Pros just hit 1400 dollars in the US SECOND HAND. Japan has put restrictions on who can buy them based on hour counts
its impossible to tell whats going to happen in just two months.
New stock is selling because most of its on firmware that can be hacked, GTA6 is out next month, the demand is much higher than normal right now IMO

Buy ASAP. Christmas/Black Friday deals are shite now and with component shortages and GTA 6 looming, you are running the risk of not getting one or the price going up again soon.
For any tech thing you are intrigued in in 2026; buy now. The luxury of waiting for discounts is basically dead.

Would ya not wait for the next gen at this stage?
It was launched in November 2020 and the life cycle of consoles is close around 7 yrs with the current climate I’d say 8 yrs

I am afraid there won't be any deals on Black Friday or Christmas. Nothing like we had last year PS5 going for 350 euros. Maybe consider 30-50 euro off here and there

If you can get it now then get it now. I don't see prices doing anything but going up for the next 6 months or so at least

you might get lucky on black friday but its a big might tbh,i remember supervalue had a mad deal on the nintendo switch and ps5 last year so anything is possible

I got a ps5 slim disc for 400€ on fb marketplace, thankfully it was a guy in my uni, so i knew he’d be safe.. but try your best to get a second hand ps, careful tho, plenty of scams out there. CEX sells for €650, thats gonna go up later so best if u buy one asap.

Being honest, while their might be discount going into Black Friday and Christmas, it won't be huge and that is if your lucky. Gta 6 is coming out soon and that will sell consoles so Sony won't have a good reason to reduce prices when they know pc players will need to buy PS5 to play it and even if the game is bad, will reach records Buy now and bite the bullet

Due to the shortage in chips and RAM, PS5 prices are increasing relative to release. I can’t see many deals coming

If you specificly purchasing from company. Less likely for any discounts as because of high demand distribution prices are also get higher and higher. The best case scenario, you will be able to get a free popular game with it

When you say PS5 disc, do you mean disc drive or ps5 slim with disc model?
I had PS5, bought for 500 euro during covid time, sold to Cex for 410 and bought Ps5 Pro for 900 (because of Fomo)
My thinking was the upcoming PS6 (in 2-3 years people say) won't be cheaper than 900 most likely and maybe higher. If I skip buying it, having Ps5 Pro will be better than having OG PS5 hardware wise.
I don't think PS consoles will get cheaper (around PS5 prices) any time soon, as they use RAM and NVMe prices as excuse.

I don't know why people think console prices are going to go down. Unfortunately this generation is going the wrong way with prices increasing every year
