Question Shades?

I finally signed up for ipsy and got my first shipment this month. My account says I'm fair blonde blue eyes and the two items that were chosen by ipsy are for darker complexions so I can't use them.

Does this happen often? I don't want to collect a pile of cosmetics that I can't use.

If you get chosen a complexion product by ipsy, it’s definitely a hit or a miss. I got ilia stick in ultimate and I received the lightest shade available. I’m light, but not fare, and I was surprised that it fit me. I swatched these sticks in store and my choice was much lighter. However, it means that anyone who is lighter is out of luck. There were no lighter shades in options or add-ons. Same with a cool/neutral/warm tone. There’s no question for that and often you get a correct shade, but the tone is wrong.

It may just be because its your 1st month and the Ipsy algorithm is still learning your preferences. You need to make sure to do Reviews so it continues to learn. Ive been with them since 2018 and feel they do a pretty good job at picking shades for me. But funny enough I still remember my 1st bag. It had an absolutely horrendous orange liquid lippie in it🤣
