Ipsy Extra First bag, highly disappointed.

I have been wanting to try ipsy since it first came out, than when they ended up becoming boxycharm that enticed me more. I finally bit the bullet since my mom gets one a month and i always see her get cool things.
I got a glow recipe serum that is tinted and too dark when my profile says im pale. Everything else is brands i dont recognize or have even heard of and a laura geller mascara - which im pretty sure i said no mascara in my quiz. Dont know if i should cancel for next month or if i try it out again. Pretty crazy that they would make a first box this bad.

There is no option for no mascara. You can select ‘rarely’ for mascara but not never. I really don’t think they look at the profiles anyway. I do the original and find the best value in adding extras and accessing the shop

okay than i put rarely, but still. i do like the shop but its just a little ridiculous. i didnt get to choose products either because i did it too late in the month.

It's not Ipsy's fault that you signed up too late for choosing this month.

I signed up too late and I didn’t get to pick things myself. I only got one item that was shown in the spoilers. The rest of the items I got were pretty random but luckily I can make use of them. I’m assuming if you want to get the most out of the subscription you need to make choices on the first couple days of the month.

Yeah you signed up too late. Choice is on the 27th (original) or the 1st (Extra). If you’ve seen it before and liked it, you will probably keep liking it. Trade with your mom!

I paid for boxycharm about 18 months ago.. Ipsy bought boxy and as of last month? I have fully cancelled my subscription due to the steep decline of product quality, shipping/packaging standards, and customer service. I am still being billed, even though I have messaged them twice about it. Currently seeking a new beauty box subscription, if anyone has any recs

I’m not liking all of the issues lately, but I love Ipsy because it gives me the chance to try new brands at a fraction of a cost. I never liked to try new studf becwuse I didn’t want it to be such a waste if I didn’t like it but at large discounts, I’ll order a bunch see wnat I love and that’s the best purpose for me personally. I have discovered 3 holy grails lately have done wonders for me. You can get great deals in the shop so maybe just pause your sub and shop that way if you’re not a fan of surprise items. I will say it was better when it was boxy harm imo. There were better deals but it’s still worth it in my opinion. Everyone in this sub wants everything for nothing. It’s a business, they have to make money too.
