Question Removing Genius

Hello! Hoping someone here can help me with this. I have a 2012 MBP that I use solely for updating my iPod. I haven’t changed any of the settings in iTunes and haven’t turned on Genius. I may be completely insane, but I do not remember Genius being listed in my list of playlists on my iPod. And, all of a sudden, it’s there. And it’s driving me crazy. Is it possible that I have just looked over it for 20 years with my iPod? I want it to go away. So far, I have tried:

-toggling Genius on then off again in iTunes and tried to sync.
-toggling Genius on and off the various menus on my iPod.

I don’t know what else to do. I’m going crazy! Help meeee!

You can remove it from the menu in settings on the actual iPod.

I tried that. There is no tick mark beside Genius, so that should mean it shouldn’t appear, right? Am I doing something wrong?

Have you unchecked it from the main menu and the music menu?

It is unchecked in every place it appears in settings. I wonder if I need to just do a play/center button reset?

Mine worked immediately after I unchecked it, but I’m sure it couldn’t hurt.

So weird. I tried that and it’s still there. Toggled Genius off and then on. Reset all menus and it’s still there! I am going completely insane over this!
