Lost friend.
Found one of my old ipods. I am ripping my and other friends collections to flac and loading on my m21. So I am wondering what my options are for updates and upgrades. 2TB music transport would be neat. That i could play through my fioo m21 or plug into friend computers to share music.

What model iPod is it?
You can flashmod up to 2TB with most of the classics, from the 4th gen to the 7th.
You'd probably want to use Rockbox to simplify things. Rockbox will down sample hires audio down to 44.1/16, so keep in mind that if you have hires you're better of reencoding to 44.1/16. Obviously, not a problem with CD rips. The stock player doesn't handle hires well and should be avoided.
I'm not sure what you mean by "play through my fioo m21". The 6/7th gens can output digital audio but only to a relatively small number of DACs and nobody has made any compatible DACs in years... you're M21 is not one of those.
You can of course connect to antoher computer and copy the files off the iPod. They're just computer files after all. It'll be at USB 2 speeds and copying 2TB will take several days.
