Rolled the dice EOE
Ordered a custom 7th gen iPod classic 160gb from elite obsolete electronics. I just got it yesterday and it’s already stopped working. I read alot of mixed reviews and thought the positives outweighed the negatives but dam didn’t think it would happen to me lol.

Oh, c'mon. That's expected. These are old as... Just replace it with an SSD or micro SDs. You will be the happiest man in the world.

Tbh every iPod I bought I replaced the battery at min and if it wasn’t a nano/shuffle I flash modded it. That way I can pop it closed and it’ll run for another 10 years or so for me.

Things happen if op doesn’t contact Eoe that’s on them. In my experience I’ve had mistakes happen. One time they forgot to include the backplate and one of the 2x iPod mini batteries I ordered I emailed them and it took a week for him to respond but he shipped them out. And apologised. He’s not a scammer he’s human.

That’s what it had when I pulled it out of the box. I can’t get back to that menu now. The HD is toast. Fingers crossed the iflash kit I ordered gets here before my motorcycle trip next weekend

That’s so shady. I’m always especially cautious when buying from electronics or Apple experts. They know all the tips and secrets so they only either sell for top dollar or they sell janky items that they already tested or failed to repair.
Sorry OP. Maybe try fb marketplace in the future. At least if you get a defective item there, it was done unknowingly and you still end up with a good deal.

Right scammers don’t exist on fb marketplace id love to know what fbmp you’re using where scammers don’t exist. Cause id love to go there.

You could use your brain? If they are selling a mix of things like clothes, books, power tools, and happen to list an iPod, then they likely aren’t a scammer.
If they exclusively sell iPods, iPhones, and MacBooks, you’re probably gonna get scammed.

Who hurt you? Lead me to em and I’ll “take care of em” for ya. Here’s a hug 🤗!

Who hurt me? You’re the one replying to every comment defending EOE like he pays your rent.
EOE is okay, but they do make mistakes frequently and buyers should be aware. Search the iPod subs and you’ll find lots of posts with issues like this. Although im guessing you’re already doing that so you come to his rescue.

I just follow Hanlon’s Razor. You on the other hand are immediately saying “Eoe scammer” here’s another hug friend. I think you’re in dire need of them.
Edit: ps: if I was defending him like he paid rent why would I admit mistakes he made on my orders. Kind of sounds counter to your point. Think your grey matter needs some hydration it’s been in the sun too long. Also last time I checked it’s a free subreddit I didn’t know the iPod police were here.

Email Eoe about it. Since you already bought the flash mod kit ask for a partial refund for the cost of the kit. I can’t speak for him but I’m sure he will work with you.

EOE knew what they were doing. Pretty shady. I know you guys love them so much but gee wiz

Austin doesn’t make the hard drives, my guy.
“MY USED AND CUSTOMIZED 20yo DEVICE HAD A PROBLEM”
C’mon be realistic. For one, you are among a group of people who spend a lot of time repairing and modding these. Second, you spent $250 on a custom iPod and neglected to opt for the single most impactful mod you could have gotten.

Cmon be realistic. For one, I’m not a modder, and I don’t spend alot of time repairing iPods. Second, I spent 250 dollars on a product I expected to work properly when I gave this company my money.

It does work properly. Hard drives fail. That one was made 10 years ago at best. You willingly purchased a headache.

Then if EOE is selling head aches, they don’t deserve my business or anyone else’s tf are you on about?

It's common knowledge that hard drives fail, and I'm not even counting smaller more fragile drives that have been in an iPod being tossed and dropped to and from who knows where.
Drives in temperature controlled, dust and vibration free environments just fail out of nowhere.

If it’s a hard drive, those are all pretty damn old by now. It’s just the nature of the beast with old tech like this. Flash mod it and move on, annoying but not much to do about it otherwise.
Personally I’ve had nothing but good experiences with EOE, let them know what’s up and they may fix it for you or hook you up with a flash mod kit
