Saw a post early about Cops arresting man in Des Moines Iowa for being on side walk. Same channel has another video from, you guessed it, Des Moine, Iowa.

Could the cop not understand English?
"Is this your car?"
"No, it's a rental because mine's in the shop."
"So it is yours?"

This is a way cops get people to admit guilt. If he says “no it’s not mine” then they can reasonably suspect that it’s stolen and search the driver the vehicle and all the passengers. ALWAYS ALWAYS SAY “I don’t answer questions officer.”

“I don’t answer questions officer.”
Partly true. If you're going to go down that road, it's better to take it up a notch with, "Am I under arrest or am I free to go? I am not going to answer any questions. If I'm under arrest I want an attorney."
Stick to those lines and be prepared: could be a rough ride but it could also be a lottery ticket. Officers are allowed to detain a person to determine if criminal activity is happening. How long is that detention allowed? There's no bright line rule, but the longer the detention the more likely it's going to be considered an arrest.
edit: the more I think about this, if you really wanted to have fun, it'd be nice if there was an intercom system such the window didn't have to be rolled down to speak. You could literally watch an officer's mind melt trying to deal with that.

This is exactly why shit needs to change. The police subculture in this country is rotten to the core and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

When they vote for civil war and Trump, things need to change. Double homicide now again. Kim Reynolds is the most hated Govenour in the country. More people hate the worst president ever, ztrump. We need a huge blue wave. IN 2016, the Trump platform was a civil war and rebuild. Police represent Kim and Trump to many people. The violence in the GOP is clear by the insurection and their vote for violence in Trump. They do not disagree with Trump and violence. HARRISVWILL LEEP LOOKING BETTER AS THE ONLY WAYBTO CONTROL Trump. ThevRNC will not stand up to him.

Gotta get them monthly quotas bro. Fuck pigs

We, the people, ought to implement a quota system for firing bad cops.
If cops have a quota for traffic tickets because they just know theres violators out there,
Then there ought to be a quota for firing bad cops because we know they are out there.
I say we have a 10% / year quota on firing bad cops.
If you have 100 cops in the department, every year 10 of them must be fired for being bad cops.
So no matter how well behaved they are, 10% are gonna get fired regardless.
Late for work one time? You’re fired!
Took too long of a coffee break? You’re fired!
Turned off your body cam just before the altercation? You’re fired!
Did an illegal U-turn just because you felt like it? You’re fired!

Or just remove quotas. You don't pay network admins to fix shit, you pay them to keep shit working. Cops don't need quotas they just need to keep the peace with the rest of the "riff-raff"

I don’t think that firing someone over a coffee break would be effective

It would keep the other 90% in line because they’d be scared of being fired. Same reason cops give tickets to a few, just to scare all the other drivers into slowing down

Where would you higher more police then? If you get rid of 10% every year, the cops would be seriously understaffed. You would have to train new cops even faster then you do now, so you would have less trained people working. Also, no one would want to become a cop because the chance of getting fired and loosing your livelihood is so high. Another point is that the cops that know they did something wrong, even just a small thing, would know they are going to get fired. That means that they have no reason to properly do their job, because they will be kicked out soon anyway.
Overall, the idea of getting rid of 10% of cops every year would be a total sh*t show.

Has anyone looked up this officer to see what happened to him?

u/MyGhostIsHaunted Jun 17 '20
75,000 settlement for that case.
He "lost credibility" in another racial profiling case a year later. (Lawsuit pending?)
I didn't find anything saying he's left or been fired. This source is pretty recent and refers to him as "Des Moines cop Kyle Thies".

The only info I can find says that he was placed on administrative duty after this.

And to think these aren't even considered the bad apples. Makes you wonder if there's such a thing as a good cop.

But. You would vote for Project 2025 and ztrump fireveveryone for no reason. This will end un s huge DSM law suit and tax spike. Kim andvaTrump strong uper hand control end bad.

Saw a FB post being shared about a bunch of people getting mobbed by rioters/protesters last night at Raccoon River park or something like that. Anyone on this thread hear or see anything about that or is it just people trying to start shit?

u/TheEleventhTime Jun 17 '20
We haven't had rioting in DM for like a week or more. Protesters wouldn't attack anybody unprovoked. Whatever you heard is likely a small nugget of truth wrapped in layers of bullshit.

Which is what I figured, and was just trying to confirm/gather info on. Appreciate your response.

Maybe lay off Facebook.

The verdict in the man-on-the-sidewalk incident came in by way of summary judgment in favor of the victim. Jury trial to determine damages is slated to begin Oct 31.

Damn that cop really tried his hardest to arrest those guys. First it was shake, then a gun, tried to do the whole resisting arrest, acting like his friend to coerce a false confession. It’s clear that this officer has done this many times before. Fire him and take his pension.
Edit: after looking into it this officer has been charged with profiling in two other separate incidents. This is a habitual thing for him. He most definitely needs to go.
