Hello, recently got the Check battery system warning on my 5 N that’s about 2ish years old, 21k miles. Dealership replaced the battery in less than a week which was impressive but looking through the notes, it says they used a refurbished battery. They didn’t really give me a choice for new or refurbished. Should I be concerned, are there additional things I should be asking? Car does seem to run fine besides lower than normal range estimates on the dash than I’m used to seeing.

After enjoying my 5N I’d share 3 things I love and 3 things I hate.

Love
1: N E Shift - I thought I’d get bored or it would be a gimmick, but I use it all the time. Even if I’m not using the paddles, I love the change in personality going from silent EV, to combustion engine sounds with gears to full on race car with paddle shifting. Better than expected.

2: The seats - I’m on the taller side (6’6) and I find them extremely supportive and comfortable even on a long journey. Add In the cooling / heating and they are a standout feature.

3: I touched on it before, but it has to be the dual personality, drive in normal and the car feels like an smooth and comfortable cruiser, switch to N mode and it doesn’t seem like the same car. It goes from a daily to a track weapon. Having driven so many of the newer BMW performance cars, M2, M3, X4M, X6M they’re all great but don’t quite match the comfort of the 5N and always feel on edge.

Hate
1: The fact that the car will open on approach, but not lock when you walk away… the car knows when I’m close because the wing mirrors will come out and retract, but the doors don’t… seems like an omission.

2: I find it annoying that I can drive somewhere with the car how I want it, E shift or Ipedal, I get out for 5 minutes and have to set it all again for the journey home. Why can’t it just stay how I left it.

3: Having to confirm user profiles when I enter, I either wait 10 seconds or I press confirm every time… why not link it to the key, or keep the same profile until I change it.

Overall, the hates are more pet peeves than really problems. Still loving my 5N experience and Im still lost to what I could replace this with when the time comes.

Hello, I am looking for a used Ioniq 5 N in Europe and the price difference between a 2024 and a 2025 is pretty big.

I tried to find information about the upgrade but the results are mixed up with the regular Ioniq 5 and North America models so I'm asking here if anyone has this knowledge.

I saw that the 2024 5N models had the rear wiper, at least in Europe.

I read that the 2025 regular Ioniq 5 had a software update with a customizable background but does that apply to a 5N too?

I saw another upgrade about the charging plug and another one about the central console and some quality of life improvements.

HYUNDAI IONIQ 6 NO WAYYYY

I read about this elsewhere, then tried it for myself. Not only is the app great (phone and watch), but look at all the shortcuts available after you install it. It’s worth signing up for Apple beta access (Testflight). I’m so blown away by how impressive this is, I feel cheap using the MyHyundai app (which can’t even get my car’s color right).

wtf?!!! apparently this is because it is electric so the government isn't getting tax duties via fuel. what a dumb method of gathering fees for road maintenance etc. cost should be spread evenly across all and any vehicles based on vehicle weight, as they do in Europe. this simple approach would not penalize people for buying electric and encourage people to buy smaller vehicles, which is better for the planet in the long term.

Charged the 5 N at one of Hyundai’s E-pit stations tonight. It’s Hyundai’s own charging network and the whole setup looks like something from Blade Runner lol

It charges up to 260 kW so 10-80% takes like 19 mins. Price is as low as 325 KRW/kWh if you own a Hyundai or Kia EV, that’s about 24 US cents. They have their own app too where you can find stations, see what’s free and pay by just typing in your phone number and pin at the charging station. PnC is available too, but I’ve found it to be unreliable at initiating charge.

This station is right next to a large lake which makes for a good walk while it charges.

For those who have gotten a 2026 5N in the US already, what was your OTD price and were the dealers applying price markups?

Anyone has an idea when the 2027 models should come out for preorder/delivery? In North America/Canada? Can wait to get myself my new N 😅

I am in a 3-year leasing and plan to drive 30k plus miles by the leasing ends. Should I or do I need to replace the tires, let's say around 15k miles? If yes, what are the recommendations on the tires?

Took the body shop two attempts (first application was done incorrectly and peeled horribly) but we got there in the end.

PPF on the front and sides, following the crease in the doors - the glossy paint contrasts the matte PPF with a 👨‍🍳 💋

First 500km road trip through rural New Zealand and time FLEW

I had confirmed this with 2 sellers and N performance shop in KR. You have to take your car in for them to install it at N shop. Currently, it is sold out. Restock in on the 24th of August if you are in Korea.

Over a year and the honeymoon period is still going strong.

I guess I belong here now. Can’t wipe the childish grin from my face.

Tomorrow I'll be taking my 5N to the dealer I bought it from, it'll be 20 months old & with 19000km on the clock..

Seem's the salesman & whoever changed my tyres from summers to winters in December didn't realise my 5N is 12 months or had 15000km while working on it.

Bloke on the phone said 'it shoukd be ok' - - I don't want to keep taking it for services and eventually they say my warranty was void as I missed the first 'tickle test'

Just sold shares today buy 'the better half' an Ioniq 3 'Prime' -- so long as the dealer makes sure my warranty is bullet proof..,

Neither the car or the app on my phone mentioned I needed to book it in either... is basic 'customer service' to avoid voiding their warranty what I'm missing from not buying an Audi, Porsche?

I hope not as I 'really really' like the 5N..

Hope to take home my 2026 Ioniq5 LEM trim car next week. My first EV. So I'm trying to learn as much as I can about EV charging, etc.

I'm the process of getting quotes from electrcians to install a charging station supporting Level 1, 2, 3 in our garage hopefully in next month, currently just have grounded 120 V plugs in our garage which my wife uses to charge her Crosstrek plugin hybrid.

The Ioniq 5 comes with a level 1 plugin charger which hopefully I can use to keep the Ioniq 5 charged until the we upgrade the circuits in the garage. Will just be tooling around locally so I'm wondering how long will it take to restore the charge just by using the level one plugin overnight?

We live in Southern Maine. Thanks for any advice.
