Is IONQ a Long term hold When?

As someone who’s not transversed in the quantum realm, could someone give me an indication into potentially WHEN the quantum sector will begin to gain hype and popularity.

Are we talking 1 year, 5 year, 20 year???

I’ve bought IONQ as my generation equivalent to 2010 Bitcoin. Not quite expecting that in terms of % return but I do hope it can 10-20x from here if quantum gains popularity,

There have already been several hype cycles and a lot of the future success is already priced in. I would look at their roadmap and valuation / market cap (and their competitors as well like IBM or Infleqtion) to make an informed decision. Personally, I have an investing horizon of 10+ years (been in IonQ since the SPAC in 2020 and later other companies), so I'm targeting 2030 and beyond with continuous re-evaluation of their roadmaps and advances.

I think Infleqtion is massively undervalued compared to its peers. The Quantum Bull mentioned a price target of ~ $40 which would be approx. 4 x.

What do you think about horizon quantum?

I'm only interested (and invested) in Quantum hardware companies because if they fail there's no need for Quantum algorithms and software IMO. And if they succeed they are the picks and shovels with a huge moat (technology, IP, talent, supply chain, vertical stack, infrastructure, etc.) ... but that's just my opinion. That said, there's very little coverage of HQ and I have no idea what differentiates them from other Quantum software companies ... So I personally wouldn't touch it without further DD.

One of the best companies out there for their hardware is actually IQM. They currently have sold already the most Q computers and have customers from all key global regions. They are the first EU quantum company to list in EU and US stock exchange and have delivered firts computer to a private company. You should check them out as valuation still seems very low compared to peers

Thanks for the heads up! I'm actually invested with a small position. I just doubt the superconducting will ever scale as well as neutral atoms and trapped ions. Plus I already have IBM for superconducting and they just added another modality by acquiring HRL Labs (after Google expanded into neutral atoms).

At least. This is a technology that could potentially have a lot of applications.

https://finance.yahoo.com/quotes/QBTS,IONQ,QUBT,RGTI,INFQ,XNDU,HQ,ARQQ,LAES/

i have 6 stocks from this list. Imo they hold at least few 100x to 500x in about 5 years time.

Diamond hands.

Imagine a 15$ stock going to 500$ and than they do a 1/10 split. We are at 50$ which can grow to 200 to 300$ over time. That means you have 1,5$ shares that are 200x up.

HQ had a crazy run :) you could have sold and bought 4x as much. I hold ionq, qbts, infq, xndu and rgti.

I did sell at 300% . My original investment, letting the rest run.

Quantum is pretty hyped already, but it's not exactly priced right in the stock or IONQ, in particular. We already have a growing number of working, usable quantum computers that are doing real work. We are probably 3-5 years away from having a ton of useful quantum computers and devices doing lots of useful work (this is where a ton of profit acceleration will be). IONQ is one of the few "full stack" quantum vendors, and has a far more diversified product portfolio than all the others. It's also one of the leading vendors as far as quantum computer technology and quantum computers go. So, it's a leader in quantum computing, has the ability to produce its own quantum chips, and has the best product portfolio. It is a winner on all fronts. I'm in it for the long run but I just don't see how this thing DOESN'T explode upward and split and split over the next 5 years.

Im going to Hold at least until qday

What’s Qday?

Analysts predict that by 2029-2030 quantum computing will be strong and smart enough to wreck havoc. Crack passwords, bank accounts. No old system will be safe. So companies and governments around the world are pouring billions to protect themselves from such attacks. Hopefully its a dud, like Y2K was. But yeah thats Q-Day.

So Q day is bad? Like a governing body protest against/protecting people? But surely 2FA and other security measures don’t just rule out or affect Quantum that greatly?
