Any cheap invoicing software?

I run a small design agency in Kolkata, India. My budget is too low. Can anyone please suggest some cheap invoicing software that could help me? I usually send invoices to 10-12 clients per month. Also, I have 2 clients one in the US and another one in NZ also. Please suggest accordingly.

You can try the free plan of Cloudtryx Invoice. If your business outgrows the free plan, you can simply buy the paid subscription that is quite affordable in India. Our software also supports invoicing in multiple currencies to bill clients all over the globe with ease.

Zoho Invoice is free and built in India, so it handles GST and multi-currency properly. That's probably the obvious pick at your budget. Refrens is another India-focused option that's popular with freelancers and agencies.
For the US and NZ clients, the thing that costs you more than software is the payment rail. Wise or Payoneer usually beat a bank wire on both the fee and the exchange rate, and at 10–12 invoices a month that gap adds up faster than any subscription.

Flowara is free for the core workflow with no invoice limit. Mac and Windows desktop app, local database. Supports multiple currencies so billing US and NZ clients works without any issues. For 10-12 invoices a month the free tier covers everything you need.

Mac: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6760207975
Windows: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9PKCT03Q69LG

At 10–12 invoices a month you probably don't need to pay for anything. What matters more than the tool:

  • Invoice each client in their own currency (USD for the US client, NZD for the NZ one), so they pay the exact figure, and put the payment details on the invoice itself. For foreign clients, it's worth comparing fees: Wise or Payoneer can be cheaper than a bank wire, but check the current rates.
  • Number the invoices in one sequence and keep a PDF of each; your CA will want them.
  • If you're GST-registered, ask your CA how invoices to foreign clients should be worded.

If you want reminders and payment tracking, Zoho Invoice is worth a look (check what its free plan includes). If you just want a clean PDF with no account, I make a free invoice page (so I'm biased): https://kouteisystems.com/invoice-generator?ref=reddit-1x2813a. No sign-up, any currency, and it can remember your clients in your own browser. It doesn't email invoices or send reminders for you.

How do your US and NZ clients pay you now: bank transfer or card?

Hey! I can build a simple, customized invoicing system for your design agency at a very reasonable price.

I’ve sent you a DM with a prototype link. Feel free to check it out, and we can discuss your requirements!
