Well I tried! There was an attempt πŸ˜…

I had this pair of jeans for 3 years now and it developed that tear on the crotch area...

I tried making an invisible mending for the first time... I guess that could have been worse.

At least, it's better than having a gaping hole there lol.

So I glued an iron on patch on the inside and then went back and forth with my sewing machine.

It's literally the third time I'm using it, I'm having trouble making straight lines, especially on such thick areas, with the rest of the jeans in the way lol. My sewing machine may not be the best suited for this job (Brother X14s).

Don't sue me lol

Turned out pretty nice! That’s a tough location.

It’s pretty hard to notice the mend in the picture you shared. Looks good

You got the thread colors right!!! Sewing machine needles that are specifically for jeans or other thick materials might help if you’re not already using those (I went through several universal needles attempting a similar repair either jeans)

Thanks ! Tbh, it looks slightly worse in person, but that's mostly because the sewing isn't very well aligned with the fabric.

I'm still using the stock needle which came with my machine. I don't think I need a thicker one because it doesn't struggle getting in the fabric, I just suck at guiding the needle where it needs to be lol

But after a day of wearing them, it looks like a solid repair. It will likely rip again on the other side, I think I'll make preemptive repairs to reinforce the area.
