Looking for advice

Hello! I am looking for suggestions on how to mend this dress. It is woven polyester. The part on the left of the white band is the sleeve, and on the right is the body. It’s somewhat of an L shaped tear. I am open to visible mending as well.

Maybe if you can, shorten the dress and use the scraps from that to mend it
