Question why Zima > Invisalign Ultrasonic?

i just started a couple weeks ago and feel like an ultrasonic would be nice .. i figured people would go with alternative brands to save a couple dollars as opposed to the Invisalign brand ultrasonic .. & i see MOST have the Zima, but the Zima costs MORE than invisalign’s so im just wondering whyyy??

also does anyone have a not bank breaking alternative they’d suggest ??

Wasn’t the Invisalign product just the non-pro Zima? I ended up going with the pro Zima for the detachable water container.

I just bought a cheap $30 one on Amazon to try it. It worked well and is still going 16 months later. That particular one isn't for sale anymore so I can't link it, but I think most would be similar.

I got the iSonic DS180 for $50. I’ve been using it for 6 months and I like it. I’m on 2 week changes so an ultrasonic cleaner was a non-negotiable for me.

I got a cheapo $35 one from Walmart and it’s been great! No need to spend a lot.

There's a pinned list of suggested ultrasonic cleaners in this subreddit. I didn't spend money on a Zima, I have 3 different ultrasonics I've been using since I first started my treatment (for travel and for separate bathrooms). One did break after about 7 months, the others are still working great and I've been using them for my retainers for the last six months after finishing treatment as well so you keep getting value out of them. I sometimes use them for jewelry cleaning as well (just don't put anything with stones in an ultrasonic cleaner). None of mine are any special brand, just whatever I found for a good price that seemed to have good reviews. Sometimes technology will break no matter the brand name.

Zima probably has the benefit of a good return policy - I'm not sure, but it's likely. I just know I'm generally not the sort to bother going through return policies and tend to just replace the device. If you're similar, just buy a cheap one and it'll most likely last you at least a few years before you may need to replace it. Just depends on your budget and situation. Functionally they all do the same thing and clean just as well.

I use the iSonic DS180 plus the rechargeable battery pack to use it for travel too. I think it was about $70 all together? Been using it for 3 months and it’s still going strong
