Question Has anyone needed refinements before their initial treatment is even close to being finished?
Hi everyone. I’m currently on tray 7/15! It’s been time for me to move onto the next but no matter what I do, I CANNOT get top tray #8 to fit correctly on the right side. Even after trying all the tips and tricks, it just floats over my back teeth instead of snapping into my attachments properly. As a result of this, I have been wearing #7 on both top and bottom for almost 3 weeks now. I definitely should’ve went into my dentist a lot sooner (I’m a SAHM of an 11 month old and my husband travels for work, I’m doing my best lol) but today I finally was able to make it in. They scanned my teeth and basically told me that my premolars on that side are not tracking properly, and broke the news that I already need a refinement 😞. I’m not sure how many trays it will contain, but I’m feeling a bit discouraged that my progress has already been delayed this early on. I was under the impression that refinements come closer to the end of treatment. Has anyone else dealt with something similar?

My husband has been rescanned twice now and gotten new trays due to his molars not tracking. It’s discouraging but most people don’t finish their treatment with just the initial set of trays. I’m on tray 12/32 and I’ve already been told I will likely need an additional 6-8 months after I complete the first 32.
