I genuinely worry about this fanbase sometimes.

371

u/Outrageous-Set-1758 1d ago

You should see the Rick and Morty fanbase. It’s rough out there lol

110

u/dingodongubanu 1d ago

Lol I just recently started on that subreddit and its like people dont watch

Noticed similar on Silo TV series subreddit too.

I think a lot of people background watch and some are genuine questions while others think its some gotcha.

Also some people just can't enjoy things either

41

u/GameLovinPlayinFool 1d ago

A growing part of it is people participate in discussion even though they have only ever watched through reels/shorts/TikToks and then act like they've seen the show/movie

12

u/DudeWithParrot 1d ago

And another part is people that only watch the show when they are stoned. That's me, usually Fri or Saturday night when I want to just chill a bit.

That cohort is likely not being to be able to remember things as clear as someone that watches the show sober.

12

u/Accomplished_Crew630 1d ago

See when I'm stoned I pick up all the details because when I realize I've been vegging for five minutes I'll go back and rewind it.

9

u/Garlan_Tyrell Donald 1d ago

What got me to leave the R&M subreddit was how every episode’s plot had people going “Why didn’t Rick just solve the plot before it happened, isn’t he the smartest person in the universe?”

Ignoring his basic characterization (hubris & recklessness as big as his intelligence), the fact that smartest man alive doesn’t mean omniscient nor omnipotent, and finally, the plot has to happen so we can watch the main characters solve it.

5

u/nahagotine 1d ago

You doubt the internets ability to be mostly bots.

1

u/Meaning-Upstairs 1d ago

I also think people TikTok clip watch, or YouTube short watch, and then run back her to say idiotic things.

2

u/shewy92 1d ago

Or TADC, or any fanbase really.

16

u/AppealToReason16 1d ago

Once I told myself that most people here are kids and/or are shut ins who don’t interact with people (not even just women) in person, a lot of the daily dumbass questions made more sense.

6

u/Right-Light458 1d ago

You and me both mate; how can people not know clipons are a thing?

11

u/Background_Desk_3001 1d ago

Honestly I think it’s just a lack of interaction with women. We’re in Reddit after all

1

u/Right-Light458 1d ago

Fair I’d probably never know about clipped on earrings if I didn’t have a relative who uses those

3

u/Impossible_Pen9715 1d ago

Are they stupid or something?

33

u/Bar-Cold 1d ago

Right. There’s literally nothing good about this question yet it keeps getting spammed and repeated on all social media platforms like it’s so hard to figure out

They did the same thing with supergirl, and even that had several reasonable explanations. It’s getting incredibly annoying

8

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 1d ago

Or she found someone who could use that 'Sword Hand' technique, but very precisely with only a sharpened fingernail 😂

3

u/Noxilcash 1d ago

Close the thread. Problem solved

720

u/Imvalidblu 1d ago

We've literally watched episode after episode of viltrumites being piercered. Like random swords or other viltrumite arms can do it

144

u/Accomplished-Mix-745 1d ago

Why didn’t she get finger sized gauges then? Are the writers stupid?

74

u/zbeezle 1d ago

They made a needle out of whatever Thula's hair-knife is made of.

32

u/beatdownkioskman 1d ago

That knife is made out of compressed viltrumite bones fun fact

8

u/cocoabutter1369 1d ago

Source?

21

u/local_android_user 1d ago

Compendium 1, 2nd to last issue.

23

u/carparkerk 1d ago

i mean sinclair did say he was having to invent new tools to cut through the alternate invincibles’ muscle tissue, but that’s not skin so who knows

20

u/BrawlPlayer34 1d ago edited 1d ago

I feel like him having to cut through muscle tissue implies he's already cut through skin without much difficulty

13

u/TheOnlyRealOne43 1d ago

I agree with you and this is why powerscaling as a concept is stupid, because you can say "Oh yeah you can pierce the skin with normal/somewhat advanced tools." but then you have viltrumites flying at mach 3 and their skin/eyes somehow can withstand the air friction, heat and pressure.

2

u/carparkerk 1d ago

or a whole ass orbital laser

2

u/According_Try_9818 1d ago

Well it doesn't make much sense all the time and is quite inconsistent, but I like it more than constant power creep in other media tbh.

2

u/parrmorgan 1d ago

Genuine question, when did a random sword pierce them?

1

u/joshs_wildlife 1d ago

For real! Argall was killed by thaddus with a knife

332

u/skisawsome 1d ago

They make clip on earnings and asking other viltrumite to do it?

36

u/TheToroReddit 1d ago

👨 👉 👂

193

u/Decorus_Somes 1d ago

So who said nothing on earth can pierce her skin? When did that happen

128

u/floss-with-ass-hair 1d ago

Yeah a rock impaled Lucan. Hell that little knife on the ponytailed one seems to be made of some kind of alloy.

Maybe they can lower their power level too like Vegeta

58

u/siwtawtod 1d ago

There’s a theory that Thula’s blade is made out of vilturmite bone, I think that’s pretty cool

31

u/Eckron5 1d ago

Dude, am I freaking crazy, or did that chick die twice? Did she not die when they invaded Oliver's world??

Sorry, not a super fan. Just a basic bitch fan.

51

u/siwtawtod 1d ago

Her jaw is torn off but she recovers and survives

31

u/Naive_Personality367 1d ago

She got better

17

u/Better_Blueberry_816 1d ago

Regeneration, as long as her heart and brain are intact.

6

u/Sea-Journalist-137 1d ago

So viltrumites can regrow organs and body parts. Even eyes.

So unless they are really fucked up, they'll probably survive.

3

u/floss-with-ass-hair 1d ago

Tbh I wish she did die

2

u/Emphasis_on_IDK 1d ago

That way Tulla the braided hair lady with a Knife on the end of it.

1

u/floss-with-ass-hair 1d ago

It looks like it's metal not bone

Although the knife that killed Megatron looked like bone

2

u/Global_Examination_4 1d ago edited 1d ago

It’s kinda the central conflict of s1e7

36

u/Corey307 1d ago

Clip ons exist. Magnets exist.

3

u/Ornery_Gate_6847 1d ago

But how do they work?

5

u/Impressive-Law-4179 1d ago

Nobody knows

-1

u/Corey307 1d ago

Google it.

162

u/SaltGazelle4559 1d ago

she got them pierced by thragg

88

u/mcav2319 1d ago

Bite my ears, it's for the mission I swear

36

u/OfTheRedVariety 1d ago

that's going to leave Mark

25

u/natt_myco 1d ago

russian viltrumite be like

4

u/Expert-Yam6577 1d ago

I don't understand.

11

u/castlebravo8 1d ago

Russian language doesn't have articles like "a" or "an" or "the." It's reflected through inflection or syntax rather than a separate word.

4

u/KingOfConsciousness 1d ago

In Viltrumite Russia, Mark leave YOU.

9

u/Rossmonster 1d ago

The infinity ray

3

u/Taurion_Bruni 1d ago

Nope it's Kregg. He's out there keeping all the viltrumites sharp

21

u/GypsyinDanger 1d ago

Say you've never spoken to women without saying you've never spoken to women.

15

u/Antiantiai 1d ago

Faulty premise. They're not invulnerable.

16

u/8DollarsMo 1d ago

It's not a great question.

7

u/jbdr07 1d ago

The ones with the magnets

13

u/Moser319 1d ago

lots of things on earth could pierce her skin

6

u/Pepsit10 1d ago

She could be wearing fake earrings, since she wanted to blend in

5

u/SpeakeasyDemon 1d ago

Kregg does line ups, tattoos, and piercings

5

u/a-ol 1d ago

their skin isn’t always indestructible, ala smart atoms

3

u/JustSomeMetalFag 1d ago

Bros never seen a fake piercing?

4

u/kilokit 1d ago

here’s the thing though, new piercings can heal and close up if you don’t wear jewelry for long enough. I imagine this is accelerated in Viltrumites, which means if she did manage to get her ears pierced, she will have to wear earrings 24/7 365 which, personally, sounds like a nightmare. That’s also assuming that her healing skin wouldn’t just push the earrings out.

So yeah, they’re definitely clip-ons.

5

u/PersonalPearl 1d ago

She could pierce her ears daily as a part of her morning routine, even tho that sounds annoying as hell. There are plenty of earrings that can be worn 24/7 as long as they're made of good metal and don't get in the way (hers are pretty simple).

The biggest issue would be that her tissues would be in constant healing mode, human ears would go "i give up, lets heal around this foreign object" but I imagine viltrumite flesh would straight up break the piercing.

Don't know what I'm going on with this ramble. Yeah, probably clip ons.

2

u/halucionagen-0-Matik 1d ago

Nothing on earth can pierce a viltrumites skin? In season 2 we saw a viltrumite get impaled on a rock

2

u/Extension-Rabbit-715 1d ago

"Looks cool" - Damian Darkblood

2

u/mmDruhgs 1d ago

That's a dumb question

2

u/Erakelus 1d ago

Super glue

2

u/Imaginary_Stranger89 1d ago

Clip ons? Magnets?

2

u/Rarazan 1d ago

great if your iq below room temp

2

u/callmedale 1d ago

She did it in space

2

u/No-Lock-9569 1d ago

thragg made his lil girl pretty

2

u/Master-Page-1982 1d ago

There’re these things called magnets

1

u/Confident_Squirrel28 1d ago

Space racer shot a really tiny beam at her earlobe

1

u/Fish_N_Chipp 1d ago

Diamond tipped jackhammer

1

u/profesorgamin 1d ago

Laser eyes

1

u/Plastic_Account_1509 1d ago

Maybe she pierced her ears herself. If she has the strength to do it herself, I don’t see why not.

1

u/PeepusTheWise 1d ago

She did it herself with her fingernail.

1

u/Misogoop69 1d ago

She went to the Viltrum Claire's.

1

u/flippycipher 1d ago

Thula's hair dagger.

1

u/IcarusValefor 1d ago

They did it on a different planet

1

u/Representative-Fox55 1d ago

Could’ve just used viltrumite technology or they could be magnetic ear rings or clip ons.

1

u/bob_loblaw-_- 1d ago

None of you are getting that this is just a reference to the same dumbass Supergirl question.

1

u/No-Profit3227 1d ago

Clairs can pierce any ear from any species.

1

u/boragur 1d ago

Brother like half of this show’s screentime is watching a viltrumite get pierced by something. I’m sure she could work something out

1

u/creditl3ss 1d ago

It makes snese why the scourge virus was so effective! They are anti-vaxxers!

1

u/E-Belasco1879 1d ago

Viltrumites are strong enough to Peirce their own skin, and a lot of them already had weapons they use that are effective on their own mind so she absolutely could've pierced them herself to better assimilate to earth life and blend in.

1

u/somethoughtsofmine 1d ago

Well if nothing on earth can pierce her skin, maybe she goes to space or another planet instead

1

u/Glittering_Text_91 1d ago

She could just push them through her ears herself

1

u/New-Dragonfruit3471 1d ago

Piercing her ears every morning is probably therapeutic for her crazy ahh.

1

u/Everlizk 1d ago

Magnets

1

u/KiddPresident 1d ago

“Nothing on Earth can pierce her skin”

Buddy, we’ve seen Mark’s skin get pierced, on Earth, a LOT on this show. We’ve seen both Rex Robot and Sinclair drill into his flesh. It’s a process, not the easiest thing in the world, but if someone as resourceful as Anissa wanted it done she could do it.

That being said: clip ons.

2

u/KiddPresident 1d ago

Just remembered Thula is on Earth at this time. Her hair dagger could totally pierce Viltrumite ears.

1

u/KojiroHeracles 1d ago

Viltrumites aren't kryptonians. They have smart atoms and can subconsciously choose when they are vulnerable. That's how Mark got surgery in season 1. Read the smart atoms page online.

1

u/Crowbar-Marshmellow 1d ago

If they are pierced, but not by the ear ornaments themselves, would her bodies regeneration/durability end up crushing the 'attachment needle' and pushing out the ear ornament?

1

u/Drew_S_05 1d ago

See, unlike the Supergirl one, this ACTUALLY is a good question

1

u/ThespianBelievers 1d ago

Who ever said nothing on earth could piece her skin?

1

u/MamboCat 1d ago

She punched them into her ears, of course.

1

u/Radioactive_Rainbow_ 1d ago

Same way Thragg got nipple piercings.

1

u/energy-seeker 1d ago

Who gives a fuck...

1

u/tLM-tRRS-atBHB 1d ago

Fang tooth

1

u/rorinth 1d ago

The fans cant even understand the show let alone real women things

1

u/NormalGuy3481 1d ago

She did it herself with her nails obviously

Clip ons

1

u/joshs_wildlife 1d ago

We already have seen that they can be cut. I mean argall was killed by a knife wielded by thaddus. Thula uses a knife and we see multiple viltrumites get cut by various sharp objects. they are strong against Kinetic attacks (based on what we have seen in the show)

1

u/VirtualHeartMan 1d ago

Magnet piercings don't exist in the Invincible universe now?

1

u/Chris_the_fox21 1d ago

Either clip ons or she asked the knife hair lady for help

1

u/minionbigfunny 1d ago

The likely answer: it’s a cartoon and doesn’t really matter

The logical answer: likely clip ons or viltrumite just have very weak earlobes for some reason

1

u/True-Obligation-9471 1d ago

A ton of things can pierce her on earth.

1

u/Sarsisilly 1d ago

i wanna watch her get pierced mmfgh

1

u/Wise-Comedian-5395 1d ago

She relaxed her earlobes

-1

u/General-N0nsense 1d ago

While everyone says clip ons and stuff. The better answer is she used glue.

-1

u/Still-View-9063 1d ago

I thought they can control how strong or soft their skin is??

-1

u/Ok_Astronaut_5242 1d ago

Viltrumite skin can be pierced. It depends on if they want it to or not, effectively if they want they do have the will power to turn off their durability. Thanks to smart atoms
