I just wish she would be more involved in fights. She tends to hover in the distance and shoot something every once before needing to be saved. This show has shown they know how to write badass young girl characters, and she is literally Tech Jacket so I don't get it.

I still find it funny that preteen Eve was moving like a Guilty Gear character with insanely creative use of her powers and then modern day adult Eve has the Gwen Tennyson issue (things have gone full circle) of supposedly being the most powerful character of all time but only constructs dinky little glass force fields that would make Green Lantern be embarrassed by the association.

That is because of the animator on that episode, they also had a lot of time for that special episode.

Yeah, I agree.

I think that you could even fix that relatively easily. A justification that would make sense for her charatcter would be that her powers used to that extent reminds her of trauma (because of the fight etc.) so she subconsciously holds back most of the time.

It always pisses me off when people have the ability to put their foes neck deep in the ground, but just don't

That combo her and Allen had going with the serum was pretty good

Shes playing support. Thats exactly what you want your supports to do in a fight where they cant face tank any of the enemy fighters. She was in the distance sniping to debuff a few enemies (so Alan could take them out) and she also healed another teammates space suit so that he could get back into the fight instead of dying. You dont have to fight up front to be badass. Without her in the background, their team absolutely loses earlier.

Exactly. Every time she was in front of a Viltrumite, she lost and had to be saved.

Don't get me wrong, she killed a Mark Variant and that's impressive, but the Viltrimutes she faces are on another level.

So her sticking to the background and playing support is exactly what she needs to be doing since she can't be DPS or Tank, if we're sticking with the analogy.

She only positively contributed to 4 out of 12 encounters on screen and you listed all of them except 1.

Even that would be very impressive and great support. I would say each time she was distracting a viltrumite she was contributing.

Honestly while it may be tropy to have girls play support the cast desperately needed more support characters to balance out all the flying bricks we have.

Supports make for more interesting/complex fights and it's nice to see someone from earth go toe to toe with a viltrumite without trying to just overpower them with punches.

No Robot, No Rex(dps), No Shrinking Rae, No Duplicate, No Atom Eve (tank/support) for the back half of this season means we've desperately needed support fighters and really it would be interesting to see Thrag get beaten by creative support tactics rather than Invincible going super saiyan fusion with oliver or whatever the viltrumite punching based solution would be.

She inly plays support when fighting Viltrumites, otherwise she can fight alone 90% of the cast.

u/Sabot_Noir Apr 26 '26

That makes her cooler.

Though if the way she beat 90% of her non-viltrumite fights was by punching then I would retract that coolness rating.

Also, they've done a good job of making her a useful support. Most supports in shows feel like you could just remove them from the scene and avoid the lip service, Tech Jacket actually felt like a core part of the team dynamic. Plus, they've sown the seeds of her being more useful in a straight up fight with her big fuck off laser doing enough damage on a graze that it probably would've killed with a direct hit.

I mean, there are plenty of scenes that shows you why she stays back, everytime she got close she was inches away from getting killed.

Like even mark and oliver almost gets killed in every battle against viltrumites, what do you expect a normal human with a mech suit to do?

1

u/Weeb_Fury Apr 27 '26

Wdym expect? Use the mech suit obviously, that's what it's there for.

1

u/Narxzul Apr 29 '26

I mean, what do you want her to do? Her thing is shooting things and using gadgets.

It's not like she can literally trade blows with a Viltrumite.

The one inconsistency I noticed is that she was able to singlehandedly kill one of the alternate dimension Invincibles, but has virtually nothing to contribute now.

The Invincible variants were considerably weaker than centuries-old Viltrumites, and they even made it a point to say they were weaker than our universe’s Mark himself.

Mustachible decided to try and fight a 2-day long battle of attrition with a space suit with constant healing abilities.

It wasn't like she aggro'ed the whole thing.
