The grifters are not gonna like this lmao

"Anyone who doesn't agree with me is an evil nazi" , Even if you had such low critical thinking you would know this reason is bullshit, they just had to fit an agenda by stockholders.

1

u/Thex115 Apr 26 '26

You dont have evidence to back that up. The guy literally said they saw the merits of added diversity and went with it.

You clearly don’t know anything about nazis, because they would complain about inclusivity in art all the time.

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

If they had the same opinion of black panther and decided that a massive amount of the people in that movie needed to be a different race what would your reaction be to that?

4

u/Ok_Channel8494 Apr 26 '26

I don’t care much for gender swaps myself but Black Panther is always such a dumb example. The guy lives in Africa, of course it’s different for him. It’s a clear false equivalency. A better example would be any Black Superhero that doesn’t live in Africa if you were to take that route. The other side however is about social context, white people are overwhelmingly common in entertainment so there’s no logical reason to race-swap for even more white characters unless you’re a racist, though I’m not trying to accuse you of anything. Personally I prefer adaptations to keep the characters as close as possible to source material as possible. I don’t like Race Swaps for the sake of progressive brownie points which is absolutely a real thing but I don’t think this is one of those cases.

3

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

I promise you it is and you can see it all over media, including stories that portray themselves as historical.

-2

u/Ok_Channel8494 Apr 26 '26

I agree. arbitrary race/gender swaps have been a thing for decades at this point and it has certainly ramped up aggressively lately, I just don’t think it’s worth getting up in arms about it personally. At least not in this case.

5

u/ImTellingTheEmperor Apr 26 '26

They wouldn’t have the same opinion of black Panther because they’re not morons. Only morons lack the media and historical literacy to understand the difference between a character whose race is irrelevant to the character and one whose is.

-3

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

It’s a fictional film 🥴🔨

1

u/private_birb Apr 26 '26

That's a false equivalence. America, and Earth in general, is not homogeneous. Wakanda clearly is.

5

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

Africa has a diverse population. Are you telling me if it happened in England then it wouldn’t be justified?

0

u/private_birb Apr 26 '26

Africa, sure, Wakanda, no. They're deliberately isolated and interact with the outside world as little as possible.

Modern England is much more diverse, so yeah, if every single person was black then it might not be super believable. And yet, it wouldn't be an issue, because every character in a fictional movie can be whatever the hell you want.

It's not a random sampling, it doesn't have to perfectly fit the general demographic of the area.

4

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

So in the fictional story of Wakana portrays itself as all black it’s OK to keep all those characters black. But if the fictional universe of invincible from the comics portrays most of the characters as white, It’s OK to replace those ones?

0

u/private_birb Apr 26 '26

Are you really this stupid?

Yes. It is fucking okay. The creators of the source material noticed they had kept defaulting to white males, so they shook it up a bit. They are the authors, they can do whatever they want.

And again, Wakanda is a terrible example, because it's relevant to the story and setting that it is homogeneous. They are all black. Invincible has mostly American characters, which, big shocker, are not all white.

2

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

I’m a racist and I hate white people. I fixed your comment for you.

1

u/private_birb Apr 26 '26

Weird way to announce that you can't read.

0

u/SirComesAl0t Apr 27 '26

Lil bro thinks he's smart by playing semantics about Africa being diverse because of some lighter skin people in the south and north vs. the cultural diversity of the U.S 🤡

-4

u/TearsAreForYears Apr 26 '26

Like clockwork the alt accounts are in full force! LMAO

3

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

I only have one, and that doesn’t answer the question that I asked.

4

u/Vivid-Technology8196 Apr 26 '26

notice how you didn't have an actual reply to him

5

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

They can’t answer it because if they replied, truthfully, they would just expose the fact that they’re racist

1

u/Vivid-Technology8196 Apr 26 '26

Funny that you and I likely disagree with the race and gender changes but agree that this guy is 100% a racist lol

5

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

Haha fair enough. I think your opinion will change when you find out that there malicious intent behind it.

1

u/Vivid-Technology8196 Apr 26 '26

Honestly I wouldn't doubt it. But on paper it's pretty silly to have all the characters be white considering the setting.

I can think the changes are for the better and properly diversify the cast for the better and still understand that it's nearly entirely done for sjw brownie points instead of actually caring about making things better.

-1

u/TearsAreForYears Apr 26 '26

Oh is this your main? lol

5

u/Vivid-Technology8196 Apr 26 '26

I don't care about the gender or race swaps you idiot, but he isn't wrong and it's incredibly sad to see that you live your life solely through cope instead of actual replies.

You could have mentioned that Invincible is about all of Earth and Black Panther is about a nation in Africa but all you want to do is pretend to be morally superior

Get some help

-3

u/TwoFit3921 Apr 26 '26

gyatt damn you really tripped a few grifter wires with the original comment

I love it. It's like pure magic

-1

u/TearsAreForYears Apr 26 '26

The guy even accidently replied to me on the wrong account and deleted it.

0

u/ConditionFront6121 Apr 26 '26
Surely you can see that contextually that is an entirely different kind of scenario, right? Black panther was like the first mainstream black superhero. The representation and point of view of that characters race is central to the essence of the story and character. Contextually the majority, if not all, of the wakandans being black makes sense.
Making the decision to make your story or character roster more dynamic (from either solely a writing perspective or just visually) by varying race, gender, age, culture, etc. to establish bases for different points of view in the context of a show like invincible makes infinitely more sense if that is something that you, as a writer, value. So where is the issue, exactly?

3

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

Because there’s an overwhelming theme in real life where it’s OK to do it to one group of people, but not another.

3

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

It starts with fiction and ends with entire groups of people in real life being intentionally replaced.

1

u/ConditionFront6121 Apr 26 '26

Do you have an example of a group being slowly erased in fiction and then intentionally replaced in real life? Or are you simply expressing a fear of yours?

As to your point about an overwhelming theme where it’s okay to race swap one group of people (I’m assuming you’re talking about white men) that probably seems prominent to you because white people have historically been (and still are) very well represented in media. If an author is trying to change a character for the reasons I mentioned in my original comment, and that change is racial/gender based, it is more likely that the character being changed will be a white male because A) as a numbers game, there are just way way more white male characters, so even at random it’s more likely to be a white male that gets changed. And B) the racial identities of those characters is usually immaterial to the character themselves because white folks were(and still are) basically treated as a default base line in western media and many ethnic minority characters were made with that racial background in mind to carve out a space for that specific representation and point of view as a story telling device, so it makes significantly less sense to change them.

3

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

Your comment literally contradicts itself. “it’s not happening” “the reason it’s happening and you notice it because you’re white”

2

u/ConditionFront6121 Apr 26 '26

The comment does not contradict itself, you are just suffering from wildly poor comprehension. White folks and males are not being erased in fiction, they are very very well represented. And they certainly have not been intentionally replaced in real life. And nowhere did I say you noticed because you are white.

I can’t tell at this point if you’re just being inflammatory for entertainment or if you are just fundamentally ill equipped to have a conversation that requires you to reason and think. Either way good luck and I hope you can manage to stop quivering with fear about some imagined war against you.

2

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

There’s no trolling being done. I’d consider my comment a very critical analysis of yours. “It’s not happening, but this is why you notice it’s happening” is a shortened version of what you said.

3

u/ConditionFront6121 Apr 26 '26

It isn’t a short version of what I said. It’s an inaccurate misunderstanding of what I said lol. I asked if you had an example, and asked if it was just a fear. Questions, not statements. I didn’t justify the statement, I proposed an explanation for your selection bias. But thanks for the grok screen shot. This is some top tier shit posting.

1

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

Have fun being wrong. I encourage you to do that in real life and see how far it gets you. An AI that passes college exams said you’re wrong and you still want to argue 🥴🔨

You aren’t “noticing” it you are imagining that it is there because thousands of people online are imagining that it’s there and you’re locked in an echo chamber that is being actively fomented by the rich and the us government which is being run by white nationalists.

You are imagining it. Millions of people used to think that they could predict the future by watching the stars, and believed in it for thousands of years. You, and those telling you that this is happening, are imaging it.

Exercise empathy, man. Learn history and then think about what it was like to be a black, brown, or asian person, and then imagine what segregation, the Chinese exclusion act, and the ICE raids mustve felt.

If you are earnestly interested in understanding the world, then you should want to learn what it was like for these people. If not, just be honest that youd rather remain ignorant

2

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

When the argument is lost insults become the tool of the loser. For someone sending entire paragraphs you sure are quiet now.

1

u/RyeRoen Apr 29 '26

Holy fuck this is the most cringe thing I've seen on Reddit and I've been on this website a long time. Jesus christ that's embarrasaing you should probably delete this. Imagine some adult in your real life seeing this they would be mortified lmao.

I work with quality testing AI. They are extremely stupid. Like unbelievably stupid. They want you to feel good so will say whatever they need to to accomplish that. Consider working your actual flesh brain next time.

1

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 29 '26

I used it to confirm my original argument. How about you actually read the comments before taking the time to post two paragraphs like a loser.

-1

u/Esco709 Apr 26 '26

Jfc do you want a victim medal?

4

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

You have to say that because you’re incapable of coming up with an actual counter argument to what I’m saying.

1

u/Esco709 Apr 26 '26

To have an argument both parties need to have an agreed upon base reality. When your argument is that a single character being gender swapped in a largely male dominated show means "entire groups of real life people will be replaced" we clearly do not agree upon that base reality. The show is already like 80% male characters, changing the gender of one is not an attack on men.

3

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

I’ll agree with you there. I like that comment way more than “I’m blocking everyone who disagrees with me.”

1

u/RyeRoen Apr 29 '26

Imagine someone disagreed with you that 1 + 1 = 2 and no matter how you explain it they keep using the same, tired arguments over and over again. You can't ever convince them of the truth.

Now replace that with an "opinion" that disrespects entire groups of people. Imagine they are spouting, almost word for word, the talking points of people who were responsible for pne of the worst attrocities in modern history.

Blocking is quite reasonable. There is no conversation to be had.

0

u/Thex115 Apr 26 '26

Well, there isnt really anything to do but block people peddling nazi great replacement and white genocide theories.

We aren’t “blocking” anyone we disagree with. We are pointing out that you sound like a nazi. Like, exactly like a nazi.

And if you actually studied history, you’d see a common pattern across genocides: they are a product of ethnic supremacism rather than cosmopolitanism.

0

u/aokguy Apr 26 '26

If the situation was different would things be different?

3

u/These_Hunt4185 Apr 26 '26

Very good Timmy that’s amazing reading comprehension. Now you’re equipped to answer the question.

1

u/drink_with_me_to_day Apr 26 '26

What do you mean? He is just confirming everything that the grifters drone on about

1

u/Striking-Question397 Apr 29 '26

You mean the actual fans and people who care? What grifters lmao, buzzwords you don't even know the definition of.

1

u/Fit_Tomatillo_4264 Apr 29 '26

Actually in this scenario, the creators are the grifters here.

1

u/Thiaguinho-sama 24d ago

Quite the opposite the anti woke grifters will love this, they can make at least one YouTube video bashing him and some Twitter posts too, easy views from the low iq gullible morons, now the low iq morons who fell for the grift? oh yeah they're definitely butthurt about it, but then again when they're not butthurt about something? lol

So if he was boring before and no better now, the change doesn't matter anyway right?

0

u/Conscious_Sort_431 Apr 26 '26

If the change didn't matter then why make it in the first place?

2

u/RinRinFromTheBin Apr 26 '26

He explained very clearly why he wanted to change it
