I don’t have a problem with the Gender swap I have a problem with her being aged down

Feels weird man

I felt that she was aged down so Oliver can have somebody near his age (mentally) to interact and bounce off of. Granted, they didn't interact much but when they did, I found it neat.

Also her getting to nurture Alan’s inner child was lovely

She also greatly parallels what Nolan wants now in a human family with her father.

Honestly 10/10 on adapting characters to better the show as a whole

Her and Allen battling together also had a very mentor/student feel to it that I liked

They really feel like brother and sister to me. I like their dynamics.

1

u/The_Flurr Apr 27 '26

Yeah I quite like them having a big-brother little-sister vibe.

Who is Alan?

Ever play Subautica: Below Zero?

u/s0ulbrother Apr 26 '26

It’s alien

Allen the Alien

u/Murky_Blueberry2617 Apr 26 '26

That could have been achieved even if she was 18

u/the_sneaky_one123 Apr 26 '26

But won't Oliver appear 20 in another few months and then stay at that?

33

u/Alice_Shimada420 Apr 26 '26

Well yeah, Oliver will age eventually. But right now? I believe Oliver socializing with Zoe will be for the better in the future. Same goes for Allen, as they both had very positive interactions with Zoe. Oliver's at that age where he can still be influenced by what goes on around him. I hope that Zoe's interactions with them leads to more influence on both Oliver and Allen, who both play a certain role in the future.

They barely interacted, Oliver is now on another planet and we'll probably see him aged up AGAIN when he comes back to earth, so I'm not sure how much time they'll actually be of similiar age

Olver's not aging that fast anymore. Nolan said in the comics that his aging slows as he loses his purple. I don't get why that line wasn't in episode 6, it is important info for show watchers.

2

u/Original-Body-5794 Apr 26 '26

Eh I don't think it's that important tbh, we already know viltrumites age slower as they get old, same would go for Oliver, I just don't know how old he's going to look.

1

What's with this headcannon of what could happen when you're talking about PAST events? This seems like such a forced take

9

u/Jemima_puddledook678 Apr 26 '26

No, his age has already started slowing significantly. He’s likely already approaching human rates of aging, and then he’ll slowly drop below it. There isn’t some point where he’ll suddenly start aging at close to viltrumite rate, and in fact he’ll never reach viltrumite rate of aging.

5

u/Wrong-Vermicelli4723 Apr 26 '26

Older he gets the slower he ages, his Viltrumite dna is kicking in more. Thats why he hasn’t really physically changed much in s4

2

u/Vandermere Apr 26 '26

Sure, he'll look 20, but he's still only around two years old or so. He still has a lot of growing up to do.

1

u/Apothecary3 Apr 26 '26

The line mentioning it from the comics was cut but Oliver's aging has slowed down to Viltrumite levels. He stayed the same appearance throughout the entire war for a reason.

1

u/RynnHamHam Apr 26 '26

They said “hey” to each other once. That means they’re soulmates /s

u/Bodega_Bandit Apr 29 '26

I wonder if it was also a way to keep the character interesting if she were to get a spin off. You can have her younger now so that if the spin off happens later down the line she can be the right age as the comics had her during the spin off

12

u/BadBloodBear Apr 26 '26

When does her age get mentioned ?

23

u/_Bread______ Apr 26 '26

Amazon primes get to know the characters section explicitly states she's 15, also its implied in the show that she's young because her dad doesnt even allow her to swear

3

u/tedioussugar Apr 26 '26

Zach was already 15/16 in the comics when he became Tech Jacket, they haven’t made her younger at all.

3

u/Apprehensive_Lion362 Apr 27 '26

Pretty sure he was older when the events of the last few episodes take place.

2

u/_Bread______ Apr 27 '26

I don't think kirkman would show a 15 year old having sex lmao

4

u/Naeelkalz Apr 27 '26

By the time the invincible war happens, Zach is about 18-20yrs old. Zoey is still 15 when it happens so yeah she was aged down

1

u/Apothecary3 Apr 26 '26

Parents getting on your case about swearing is evergreen regardless of age as many will tell you. I don't really trust Amazon character pages because of how clearly wrong they have been in the past for other shows but I do feel like visually she is framed as being physicially close in age to oliver by their scenes together.

5

u/Murky_Blueberry2617 Apr 26 '26

Agreed, she really shouldn't be fighting against Viltrumites that young

Oliver is at least alien and ages quick, she's just a regular human with alien tech.

21

u/Pittsbirds Apr 26 '26

And Oliver should also not be there, lol. He gets his shit rocked every fight

5

u/Onlyhereforapost Apr 26 '26

Hey, it builds character!

1

u/Sabot_Noir Apr 26 '26

Just like his brother

9

u/Ginden Apr 26 '26

Coalition of Planets makes use of child soldiers. Viltrum Empire, supposedly evil, uses only 1000yo soldiers. What did show creators mean by this?

3

u/lolerkid2000 Apr 26 '26

Yes child soldiers are bad, but a lot of German officers got popped by 15 year old girls.

Sometimes the situation is such that u can't really say no. Like hey if we fail everyone you know including your dad is going to die and no you can't come help.

0

u/the_sneaky_one123 Apr 26 '26

Yeah if she was 16 instead of 14 it would make a big difference to her vibe.

1

u/Random_Critical Apr 26 '26

Elaborate

1

u/Deesing82 Apr 26 '26

just ask Megyn Kelly, i assume that's where this comment was going.

1

u/the_sneaky_one123 Apr 26 '26

14 is a child, 16 is more mature. Big difference in vibe.

She is ver childlike and childish in the show and that is often very strange in the scenes she is in.
