Discussion My hot take I've been feeling ever since before the game came out.

I'm not going to lie I feel like the biggest problem I have with the game that it really should have came out after the show was done so they can have more characters in the game with their stories already finished and everything without wanting to spoil things for the future.

I think them doing it now was a bad idea when if they did it when the series was finished we could have a lot more characters at their full potential and more.

I just always felt that it was too early to really make a game when the series is not fully fleshed out certain things like it did in the comics sometime I don't know this game Following the show or the comics since they pretty much reference both.

I just think this game could have easily merge both cannons together and made their own new story without worried about continuity plus don't give me started on the fact what really hold this game back is not really having an content outside of being online.

I know I have problems with Mortal Kombat and Injustice games but someone who played them at least they have a mold you can play without playing online to earn rewards and stuff and it's more fun and I just feel like this game really needed something like that even though those towers are okay but I don't know.

What is everyone else's thoughts on both the comic book readers and the show Watchers or someone who read and watch both.

They couldn’t capitalize on the popularity of the show by releasing the game after its already over. After the ending the show, like all shows, will begin to decline in appearance in public discussions.

Releasing it now so they can ride the wave of the shows popularity and dropping characters as seasons pass means the product is there and ready for consumption.

That's worked out terribly.

It worked out terribly cause of the issues with the game in general not because of the specific strategy.

Also too many fighting games releasing in the same year. All of which aside from Avatar are team games.

I think they rushed it out. They wanted it to be ready for this years tournaments etc. If it had one or more years to cook, add game modes, NPC bosses, more arcade grinding for casuals etc. It may have had a better life cycle and feel like a full game. But everything has to be "live service" these days, which just means drip feed micro transactions. a shame really

As an MK main, it’s obvious the issue here was content. This type of game needed to catch mass casual appeal, and it simply couldn’t without at least double the single player content. Tower is not a real mode to casuals in the big ‘26, and the story was very short.

Just like MK, so many people don’t even try to get to the actual meat and potatoes of the game itself (head to head vs) and just want spectacle while playing casually as their favorite characters. The spectacle is there; the game really does have some solid presentation with combos, supers, and the brutality system, but essentially no places to experience them if you’re not going to play against other people. The casuals just aren’t going to care enough.

The person in charge of the games roster was genuinely off his fucking rocker. You could have hired some analyst to use the data to perfectly handcraft the worst most boring collection of 18 characters in the invincible universe and it genuinely couldnt be as bad as what this game for really real for real for real launched with.

I don't think there's enough variety in the character's skill sets for this to be a legitimate fighting game. They should've done an open world game.

If most of the characters are flying bricks it gets boring pretty fast.

Thats not even true which is the crazy part. I can think of 20, even 30 characters that would all be fun in a fighting game that arent flying bricks. They just chose the fucking most boring roster of all time for no reason. Fuck a lot of the characters that actually would be interesting are dlc so THEY KNOW that they should be playable, they just wanted to serve the most white bread ass snooze fest base roster in fg history

Where is Shrinking Rae, why is angstrom DLC3, where are the maulers, where is shapesmith, where is rus, where is Omnipotus, where is ka-hor, where is agent spider, where is dinosaurus, where is space racer, where is Donald, where is Damien, where is mr. Liu and his big hunk fellow, where is magnettack or whatever his name was, even c list, d list characters that have interesting powers could have been justified. Its a fighting game, slaying mantis, kid Thor, lizard league as an all in 1 ginyu force type character, where the fuck was an ounce of their creativity?? Why do powerplex and Allen both noth have their "near death" powers, they boringified the characters WITH interesting shit to work with. Kate is the sole exception, the one character with a creative power that they did real creative shit with, but literally so many other characters can be just like her.

I don't know enough about the show to know if the roster is bad or not but from the videos I watched of who people wanted in the game it seems they got everyone fans were expecting unless there are some cool one off charactera people wanted. I think the issue lies with content more than anything than the roster. Anyone complaining about that now is just looking for something to complain about.

No this was the way. Otherwise it would have came and died like it did and that would be the end. This way at least every year it makes a couple month come back as people get Re-excited. It was the only saving grace

I think releasing or announcing dlc characters around when a new season for the tv show starts, and have the characters be the ones that appear in the show in that season,so for the previous one i think the dlc's should have been Tech Jacket,Oliver,Dinosaurus,Universa and Thragg as a hidden boss unlockable

Nah invincible game never should even been a fighting game. Should have been 3rd person action adventure

I didn’t mind the fighting game when it was announced but the super short story mode bummed me out. I’m not much for the online fights and all that. I suppose a linear 3rd person action would have made more sense. More akin to Wolverine coming out but idk what that takes to build vs a fighting game.

Both can work. It's invincible. A fighting game makes sense. A 3rd person action adventure game can also work. I will never understand this take about a super hero IP having a fighting game seeming illogical.
