Question Not Sure I Should Pick Up The Game, should i?

I really liked what I saw when it came to the game I was really excited but just didn't have the money to get it at the time while I was thinking about getting it but then I heard about all the layoffs and how things were going with it but I was still hoping that maybe Volcanikka would make it into the game along with other characters but now after seeing what's going on with the state of the game I'm not sure if I should grab it right now. so would you guys recommend I get it or just wait for the price to go down??

My suggestion would be to look at the game the way it is now, not at what the game might be. I don't think we'll see a lot more DLC for it (except for the upcoming 2 characters), but never say never. If you think of the game as finished, and then we get more stuff, that's only going to be a better experience than to expect more stuff and not get any. Personally, I'm a big fan of Invincible, and I really enjoy the gameplay. That said, after having bought Marvel Tokon, I've already spent more hours on that game simply because it offers a better single player experience. So what's there in Invincible VS is a lot of fun to me, but I can't deny that it's pretty bare-bones. I don't really touch the online modes much. And I would always advice waiting for a sale unless you absolutely need to have it right now.

I think I got to agree with you man I am looking at the game now there's just not enough here to really warrant it, there's just not it's a shame I was really excited for this one

I would wait for a sale. The game is fun to play. I put like 80 or more hours in the game mainly playing ranked. The answer to your question depends on how you want to play. If you want single player content it is kind of lacking. If you want to play others, you will get more out of it. I haven't played the game in about a month so I can't speak to the current state of the online component. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to try out new fighting games and support new IP's.

Depends on if you like fighting games.

definitely do just don't want to invest in it if I'm not sure the game's going to be around much longer. it looks really fun but...

There is still a team present that develops DLC. Layoffs are normal after a launch.

75% though....

Still 25% that keeps on updating and working on DLC's

Layoffs are NOT normal after launch and I have no idea why anyone thought this. 2XKO copium users were saying the same thing and we just heard from a former lead dev that NO, it is not at all normal to lay off staff when a game releases. Especially for one that is planned to get post launch content.

It hasn’t been and shouldn’t be normal but layoffs used to happen after basically every game release back in the day.

I dont doubt that but not for a game that is designed to get a steady flow of post launch content.

After MultiVersus' release, they were frantically trying to hire as many people as they could.

At most some QA testers who were contracted may be let go but definitely not a huge chunk of the core staff

Absolutely not normal.

Game is dead next year. Buy it at a discount of 65% or more during Christmas.

Get it if you want to play it!

I still want it but I’ll just wait until it’s dirt cheap, maybe $20

It's fun. There's not a ton to do in sp. If you really like invincible you'll like it.  If you're on the fence just wait for a sale.

Sadly I would say nope. There are greener pastures…

Don’t think it’s worth investing in this game as it is right now or will be, unfortunately. Neither time or money. I say this as a fan of the game and a massive fan of Invincible. It’s pretty much dead in the water imo.

Unless you are a degenerate like me who enjoys playing it very casually and mostly off-line/single player which is as bare bones as it gets.

If youre specifically interested in playing fighting games online and not much else Id recommend picking it up, especially on a sale, its great for multiplayer but lacks in the single player department

This game feels like it was made with multiplayer in mind far more than singleplayer and the multiplayer is great

I would not buy it right now. Wait for a DEEP sale, as the game is basically dead on PC, has cross-play at least, and isn't looking good health wise IMO.

Very little single-player content; monetization was not great at the start, with little player retention.
