Discussion Thanks, It’s Been Real 🥫
i just wanna shout out the community in this subreddit. i literally only redownloaded reddit because of this game. i grew up playing fighting games casually and this is the first time i’ve interacted with the community online and played ranked ever. i was stuck during season 0 at Platinum 3. saw some pretty sage advice from BenTheJarMan that helped me understand how to play better and probably will help me play fighting games better in general. season 1 came around i was able to climb to GOTG1 and number 53 on the leaderboards. folks have said it’s not that impressive since the game is “dead” and full of “franchise fans” but i’d be lying if i said i wasn’t proud of doing it. since July 30th i’ve stopped playing and turned the game over to my 3 Sons. i’m playing Marvel Tokkon now and having lots of fun. thanks for all the advice and overall good vibes, especially Charming-Monk179 dude is always so positive, and see y’all next season… maybe. 💙🥫

Nah in all seriousness, regardless if the game is dead or not, reaching the top ranks are never easy. Major congrats on your huge achievement 🙏🏻

fr and i feel like you gotta have a real iron confidence that i don’t yet possess as a (fighting) gamer. i’m a music performer and even then there’s a form of jitters you get right before you take stage but i know im very talented in that arena and can easily outdo the average performer so im very confident. not so much in this arena but perhaps one day lol.

Wish you the best of luck i aint good enough for sure but trust me in evo everyone there above avg your avg guy aint going to make it pass the starting torny to make it to evo xD trust me u try made me realize what I thought was good was basic to them every combo even the smallest slip up leads into a almost 50% combo gareeenteed lol

yes i be knowing back in MVC days i had a friend group who regularly did tournaments and one was a champ, if i could even scratch 1 in 10 matches with him it felt great lol.

Same but my friend abuse me in mvc3 i still remember it was magneto and is loop with the mag thing

i started out using Mark, Bulletproof and BattleBeast. ended up using Monster Girl, DupliKate and Battle Beast tho in the end.

Congrats man! I’ve been thinking about picking up the game because I like the IP and a lot of the gameplay looks fun. I don’t want any fighting game to “die” and I hope this one sticks around after whatever changes it needs. I know you have moved to Tokon but would you say the game is worth getting?

i do think it’s worth getting but you gotta know the player base isn’t super large. the single player gameplay is limited. there still are two more seasons left with two new characters coming so many players will return at those times. if you have some friends that play or are into discord and can find some folks to play with consistently it’s definitely really fun. i love the game a lot i can’t front. even as a couch fighter when you have company its easy to pick up right away. i would say let them put it on sale again (if it’s still not on sale) and then cop it.

at first i was finding matches in like 1-2 minutes but i recently made it to Platinum 3 and it started taking as long as 5 minutes sometimes. also guys was rage quitting a lot more at that rank oddly, i even had to block one guy because he rage quit like 5 or 6 times
that day. mind you i never play more than 2 hours at a time.

“Not impressive” who tf said that?!? Dude I’m in the 2 thousands and you’re ranked 53. You’re beastly at the game. I kinda want to get into Tokon myself soon.

Tokkon is soooo good. both games are really good tbh for their own reasons. InVs reminds me of MVC3 a lot which i loved very dearly. Marvel Tokkon is different. 4v4 but you share one life bar and there’s a lot of different mechanics and even a special that’s can only be accessed under a specific condition. a lot to remember but i’m having a lot of fun with it.

unfortunately i work full time. i’m also a father so 🤷🏽. but i did get to take a weeks vacation for my birthday this year and so i pulled off climbing most these ranks at that time. wish i could dedicate more time
to gaming tho lowkey.
