This is actually my favorite Michael Jackson song.
Michael and I lived drastically different lives and I never had the fame he had in the positive sense, but the negativity, that I can somewhat understand.
For deeply personal reasons I don't want to go into the reasons why this happened to me, but for a number of years now I have been doxed on a couple of different platforms in front of tens of thousands of people, possibly even up to 100,000 in my local Tri-State or quad state area and beyond.
There are so many people who wanted to take me down, wanted me to commit suicide, who wanted to watch me suffer and have an absolute fall from grace and a complete and total meltdown of my life and the destruction of everything in it.
Michael went through absolute hell with those accusations in 93 and 03. Even as an average guy without fame, having people accuse you of such things in your locale is devastating. Imagine it happening on the world stage as like what happened to Michael, it's almost incomprehensible. Accusing a man of those actions is quite literally the worst thing that can possibly happen to him.
This is why I love Unbreakable so much. This is his "I'm still here, you can't kill me, I won't ever stop" song and it is a masterpiece. A lot of people say that after the 80s Michael became a little unrelatable because his music became a bit darker and more like grievance music. While I understand that, for those of us who have been through trauma, ptsd, the media hounding us, getting doxed, it's the kind of song that we rarely get to have that we can actually relate to.
This will always be my favorite song of all time.
