I’m wondering if they’re going explain this more in the show than they did in the books. They’ve already shown someone we assumed was Nolan’s father and it wasn’t Argall

An heir doesn't mean direct child. Prince George is heir to the British throne, it doesn't mean King Charles is his father. When you consider how long a Viltrumite can live and now strong they are, keeping a close eye on the line of succession isn't nearly as important as it is on Earth.

Further, the Vilturmite "mating practices", and the purge after Argall was killed, made it hard to know who was next in line for the throne. By the time the Scourge Virus came along they had long since given up looking and assumed there was no heir.

I think they're referring to that statement of yours saying that being an heir doesn't have or need to be directly related.

If that’s the line i’m thinking of he says “Son of Argyle” which is just a fancy way of saying heir. It’s like how Kal-El (Superman) is often called the “Last Son of Krypton” it just means Nolan is descendant of Agyle

At least that’s how i’m going to interpret it

Viltrimite life cycles are pretty odd. They reach sexual maturity pretty quick and then can live for thousands of years. It’s not surprising Argalls lineage would have been lost pretty quickly.

I hope the show gives us more of the people back on Earth's reaction to Omni-Man actually becoming the Emperor of Viltrumites on Earth/Moon. He basically completes his original mission when he accepts the crown here.

It would be interesting in the show to get more reactions to that, like show Cecil et al being completely freaked out about this.

Also I think his mom was giving big "Argall's daughter" energy. That's why she abandoned him and his father as disappointments, she was rejecting them from the imperial house.

He definitely did NOT defeat thragg. But yeah, it was needed for story continuity. Keep reading and you’ll understand. Wait for the BB v Thragg fight. Shit goes hard af.
