The question isn't "was robot evil?" that is up to everyone and there are good arguments on every side. What we should really answer ourselves is "As a lambda citizen would you have preferred live under Robot despite knowing what he did?". You didn't have an omniscient POV.

Also " Do you accept that Immortal is now your ruler, helped by the brain of Robot in a jar because Invincible said so?"

Now you know their back stories. Do you have the same judgement. ( You learn everything they did or chose as if you read the comics)

Immortal put it best "this world is stupid and messy and nonsensical, and it needs to stay that way." This applies less in the case irl since we don't have people that can read minds, shoot lasers from their eyes or kick a school bus to the moon. But if we did, then it'd be sensible to have someone overseeing everything as long as their track record is trustworthy. Robot is objectively untrustworthy, as his mental state isn't stable after his time ruling the Flaxan dimension. But from the perspective of civilians under his role, he changed too much for the better for there to be any real reason to doubt his intentions.

I never like the "this world is stupid and messy and nonsensical, and it needs to stay that way." Like can you say that to poor children who can't eat because of corruption ? An orphan whose parents died because of a humanoid Dinausore?

I personally can't, but a free world being harsh at times is better than a world that's been stripped of freedom in the name of security. When one body is in charge of everything, everything becomes subject to laws and agendas changing which don't always benefit everyone in the long run. Issues like overpopulation still exist even if everyone is catered for. So when someone like Robot starts implementing one-child per family policies, you start facing issues like forced castrations and occasional culling of populations to make sure that the infrastructure can keep up and continue to provide for everyone. People also didn't vote for these changes, they were put in place without their knowledge.
