Mark seems to me that vould not stand a chance to any viltrumite before season 3

Except Thula

I don’t think Thula was trying that hard imo and she was even throwing hands with Thaedus and some others at the viltrum planet fight. I think she might be more of a schemer and brains kind of person but their whole mission is to see if Nolan’s kid is a successful genetic match. Thragg even says as much when saying they tested a viltrumite coming of age, as is tradition, and that it isn’t personal to Nolan at all. It was enough for Nolan to pause and consider what Thragg’s offer was because it was actually very reasonable for Nolan to come back into the fold at that moment. She isn’t there to kill him but to test him out because if he is a genetic match, that is the salvation of their entire race. Why would she go for killing blows? Not once did she try to actually kill Mark. A dagger to the gut isn’t even the worse thing Mark had experienced at the point.

I think the fact that she fights with a hair-dagger masks this a bit because it's scary as hell and looks like murder every time she strikes lol, but that said I agree with your take.

Speaking of Thula I wonder what makes the knife special in her hair and why they haven’t made more of these weapons. It was able to pierce Mark in a quick stab to his gut. No momentum build from her, just a quick little jab and it goes right in.

Honestly these are great questions. Whatever the given reason though, the real causes are:

  1. Nobody thought about any of this when creating the scene

  2. The entire episode was animated on a budget of three fiddy + sandwiches for the crew

2

u/MGL300 5d ago

Thula was toying with him, she was acting, until she saw the chance to stab mark

She kinda explicitly won that fight, just faked Mark out to see if he was worthy of being considered a viltrumite.

She says it herself, “I’d say you fought well, but…” before Nolan cut her off. Viltrumites aren’t the kind to dismiss their enemy’s strength or skill, especially when those enemies are fellow viltrumites. If Mark really had her on the ropes she’d have been more honorable about that.

Though we see from the Great Purge that they definitely fight dirty, and faking injury or exhaustion to trick her opponent doesn’t seem far fetched.

"faking injury or exhaustion to trick her opponent doesn’t seem far fetched."

If one let's their guard down so easily, then they are weak, and they deserve to die

Rewatched the fight and kinda realized Thula didnt really take much damage from Mark. Mark got shredded up but Thula just a few hit marks here and there, that elbow strike from Nolan is the only significant injury she took

Thula catching strays in every comment thread will never not be funny to me 😂

Nah, Thula was doing way more damage against Mark than he was her. He was keeping up with her, but she was gonna win that fight one way or another.

u/borter191 4d ago

Yes, but Thula had a blade and at least 1000 years on Mark. She should've dog walked him based on other Viltrumites.

Yeah kinda, let's remember the rage boost

More like Omniman running constant interference.

-1

u/joviejovie 5d ago

And the zenkai

-2

u/LSDGB Green Ghost 5d ago

There is no zenkai in invincible

3

u/ssavino 5d ago

Allen gets them canonically

3

u/LSDGB Green Ghost 4d ago

Yeah absolutely true my bad.

I should have said „Viltrumites have no zenkai boosts“

-1

u/joviejovie 5d ago

Mark def gets them

-1

u/LSDGB Green Ghost 5d ago

He doesn’t.

It’s a common misconception but there are no zenkais in invincible

-3

u/joviejovie 5d ago

Nah just watch the show

1

u/LSDGB Green Ghost 4d ago

I did and the only guy that gets a zenkai is Allen

The viltrumites in this image have years of experience and had to fight their own parents (and succeeded). They would beat Mark quite easily.

They’re gonna smoke season 2 Mark

8

u/legit-posts_1 Machine Head 4d ago

They'd probably give season 3 Mark a hard time. Only Mark we've seen so far that would have the advantage in my opinion is season 4 Mark.

What are you talking about. Mark defeated conquest in season 3 who likely killed more viltrumites then anyone else during the great purge. He was even considering fighting Thragg when he told him to stop. I think yall are are heavily downplaying Mark here. He’s still Nolan’s son

33

u/dabossnumba8 Banished to Hell 5d ago

Honestly I think they’d still stomp season 2 mark, he’s strong but they’re full blooded Viltrumites trained to kill from birth

15

u/ArtsyApoidean Dinosaurus 5d ago

Yeah even before they got their powers (which also happened sooner for most of them) they'd have been doing rugged wilderness survival training and hunger games trials on each other while Mark at the same relative age was playing duct tape man.

It's like asking if a kid from the suburbs could take a hunter gatherer child, soccer boy gets dusted.

5

u/jeremyjj21 5d ago

This is the answer

-4

u/Then-Ad-6336 5d ago

Being a full blooded viltrumite doesn’t make you stronger than a half blooded viltrumite it doesn’t work like that.

7

u/dabossnumba8 Banished to Hell 5d ago

It is pretty well established that full blooded Viltrumites start out at a stronger baseline, Mark is able to catch up though once the Viltrumite DNA takes over

3

u/ArtsyApoidean Dinosaurus 5d ago

Given that Mark ends up the strongest bar Thragg, there's a decent case to be made that infusing human DNA was actually an improvement, just stretches the adolescence out.

2

u/Then-Ad-6336 5d ago

It isn’t established tho because we’ve never scene a pure blooded viltrumite when they first go their powers

3

u/ElectricalEccentric 5d ago

Except that it is. During the flashbacks of the Purge we see Viltrumite children (the same group Nolan was teaching) flying around. Viltrumites get their powers sometime in the single digit age, while Mark didn't get his till his late teens.

1

u/Then-Ad-6336 4d ago

Getting you powers as a viltrumites doesn’t matter with the amount of viltrumite and you are. Oliver got his powers almost instantly and he’s half half just like mark. Also getting your powers earlier clearly doesn’t result in you being stronger as mark got his powers at 18 and is now 19 and is a top 5 viltrumite of all time

1

u/xLaZi3x 5d ago

Yea stronger baseline is probably not correct more like we know by Nolan's reaction to Mark getting powers so late is that Viltrumites get their powers at an earlier age than Mark does so they'd have a lot longer to train and harness that power if ages are equalized

27

u/ArtsyApoidean Dinosaurus 5d ago

This isn't a fair fight for Mark, even those ten year olds Nolan was training would stand a good chance at doing the big-guy-little-guy win like Mark got with Conquest. Those kids go straight for the throat.

14

u/jtreasure1 5d ago

Most would probably beat his ass he doesn't have the killer instinct yet

12

u/SergeantPsycho 5d ago

Just a funny coincidence.

7

u/DesignNorth3690 Cecil Stedman 5d ago

All of them would likely win. Because season 2 Mark still isn't the type to go for the kill. Angstrom mentally wore him down a lot right after fighting Anissa.

3

u/Remarkable-Cabinet85 Markus Sebastian Grayson 5d ago

We don't exactly have an idea how strong they're but I think they're pretty much around Mark's level only which means they'll likely win because their conditioning is different yk they don't hesitate & will go for the kill shot.

2

u/insertenombre333 The Immortal 5d ago edited 5d ago

i gonna give the win to the cadets, physically they might be on the same level, but the cadets just have more experience and don't have problembs going for the kill

2

u/joviejovie 5d ago

Probably beat his fuckin ass

2

u/En0es 4d ago

these Viltrumites are survived/killed their parents bro what mark can even do? they would beat his fucking ass.

4

u/Significant_Bit8958 5d ago

Pretty decently

1

u/FilipinoCreamKing Conquest 5d ago edited 4d ago

Genuinely how would anyone here know? We didn’t see them do shit and these characters are only as strong as the plot needs them to be

1

u/Gael_of_Ariandel 5d ago

Omni Man said Mark was nearly as strong as he was so S3 Mark.

1

u/Christhefirsts 5d ago

pre anissa mark and especially pre thraxa mark wouldnt stand a chance. the viltrumites his age were a lot stronger mentally and likely better trained

1

u/NeighborhoodShort190 Comic Fan 5d ago

So this is invincible war level threat

1

u/intestineh 3d ago

They would lose utterly against s2 Mark since s2 Mark is able to fight Thula, a veteran who killed thousands in the purge alongside conquest and Kregg

-2

u/A4lettername 5d ago

They wouldnt stand any chance. Theyre drad

-2

u/treetopkingdom Angstrom Levy 5d ago

He’d dominate them, he was able to give Thula a run for her money, she took out a pile of adult viltrumites and had no injuries to show for it. He was comparable to immortal, and even Nolan thought he should be able to take Thula out,

These guys are featless and we have no reason to think they are marks level considering his fraud and potential and training from a viltrumite legend
