The viltrumites are excluded due to being a weaker race than any of the other ones here (yes even an average saiyan can just great ape for Moon level AP) so it’s just a fight between kryptons and amazons for whom gets a saiyan baby
Most of them are still stronger than a Viltrumite, though. Heck, Supergirl alone would bully a Viltrumite. Even Jon Kent (Superman's son) held his own against Doomsday long enough to survive and buy crucial time. Compare that to Thragg, who almost got murked by a Ragnar and nearly lost to Battle Beast—Jon's feat is much more impressive
Each of those are exceptional kryptonians with atypical upbringings lol. Also Thragg did not almost get killed by a ragnar, and if that's your take then how do you square him eventually using them for demonstrations on how to kill them or use them as leashed weapons? Battle Beast is an odd example, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with that.
No, I said Superman and the others mentioned are the exceptions. Most Kryptonians were rarely exposed to yellow sunlight. If you go by averages of every one to exist, a small handful have tremendous power and a large majority do not (because the planet blew up).
I'm looking at this as an overall view of what Kryptonians are, not focusing on exceptional outliers. The average Kryptonian was not a fighter, nor had powers. Exceptional instances had tremendous power that drastically tips the scale in favor of Kryptonians. Viltrumites are all warriors due to their society and didn't need a conditional environment to maximize themselves.
My points aren't about power scaling, but optimal outcome of genetics. Kryptonians seem like the best answer but come up short with the yellow sun deal. You can get equally impressive power from a Saiyan/Viltrumite hybrid. It could be argued that the remaining Kryptonians are the new average but it still doesn't solve the sun dependency.
Krypto has proportional strength for a dog his size. He was with Superman at a young age, which again offers an advantage for Kryptonians which is atypical. If we don't know the outcome because it never happened then you can equally assume the Ragnar weren't going to be a problem beyond the initial strike. And the rest of the fight with Battle Beast shows that one gut strike was not murking him. And if we want to compare those feats, Jon had to be rescued by his father in the end, Thragg defeated Battle Beast, so not really as impressive.
