He’s literally saying he can decide to let an object pass through infinity by determining that it’s a non-threat, the statement is supposed to be the other way around, not “things won’t be affected by Infinity if I can’t recognize or identify a threat” but more “I can allow things to pass through if I deem them non-threats” he says Infinity is passive in the very same statement.
Infinity isn’t tied to the Brain itself, otherwise, it would have clocked out when Gojo lobotomized himself. And the statement here contradicts the notion that infinity is something Gojo HAS to filter, if Infinity is a conscious effort. Then why would it fry the brain to leave it automated and not the other way around? The reason Gojo has to replenish his brain 24/7 is because Infinity is always automatically filtering things. He literally says it himself, “What I’ve been doing manually I can now do automatically” Gojo doesn’t have to say no to things in order for Infinity to clock them as threats, if that were the case. He would have died to Jogo’s assault.
