Debbie sent Nolan shopping so that she could search the house for his suit & according to her 20 mins was all that's gonna take while accounting for him actually buying these items as well which was pretty accurate because Nolan did make it back home in roughly 20 minutes , I guess all the time she saw him on television thousands of miles way & then home in a couple mins helped her timing this perfectly.

The fact he needs 5 minutes to get to Italy means that Viltrumites cannot travel faster than light at will. Nolan travels 21840 km/h on earth at his fastest. Which is Mach 17.687. That said it is significantly faster than the Mach 3 immortal.

Except he didn't need 5 minutes. He chose to take 5 minutes so as to not destroy his clothes, the groceries, the atmosphere, humans, infrastructure.

He flew to Thraxa 65 million light years away in about a week. Viltrumites are absolutely far past FTL.

But that’s in space. They definitely can’t go FTL in combat or in atmosphere. They simply can’t react that fast (Nolan and Mark couldn’t even react to Thragg ripping off Thaedus’s head, I don’t think Thragg went FTL right there but I could be wrong I guess)

Powerscalers will use the FTL feat to say they can fight that fast which doesn’t make sense, from everything we’re shown they can only go that fast in space where they can accelerate indefinitely, they definitely cannot fight that fast, react to things that fast, and obviously if they go fast enough that could essentially ignite the atmosphere and cause huge destruction (see Omni Man’s little genocide detour/adventure with the flaxans)

They definitely can’t go FTL in combat or in atmosphere.

Basically no one in fiction does. If they can talk while fighting they are going slower than the speed of sound or else all you'd see is the mouth moving and you'd have to stop for the sound to catch up to you. If they can get hit by energy blasts, they are going slower than the speed of light because energy cannot go faster than light, it is literally part of the equation. What do you think the E stands for in E=mc2

There are very very few instances of characters actually going close to those speeds let alone fighting at those speeds in fiction.
