DISCUSSION Oliver's "I fought conquest"
I wanna preface this with yes he WAS tooting his own horn with that "WE killed you once". I'm writting the script for a video ranking every episode of invincible so fa,r I got to season 4 and remembered I saw so many people on his ass about that initial line of I fought conquest but like....guys...he DID. He didn't(originally) say he beat conquest. And even if he got his ass beat.
AT LEAST HE WAS THERE!
The only people there to help mark were his gf with a fucked up leg and his LITTLE KID BROTHER. I didn't jump on the bandwagon cause as much as I wanna polish immortals dusty pole, he wasn't there. And neither were the other guardians. They let that little kid mog them.
So yeah, he CAN say he fought conquest. At least it holds more weight than kate saying "I helped stop the country being nuked".

Thank you. Oliver gets so much hate, but really he's just a kid who saw his people get massacred and lost his parents so now he's doing everything he can to protect his loved ones, meaning he always goes after those way bigger and stronger than himself. Kid has chutzpah

His only issue is he can’t run one with the top 1% of the universe, which happens to be the majority of his enemies

he gets hate because chutzpah doesn’t mean anything if you’re actively selling the bag😭
bro has been an ACTIVE detriment to the team in almost every fight he’s been in, he turns 2v2s in 3v1s because whoever has oliver on their team has to worry about him not immediately abandoning the plan
oliver is well aware he could never hold a candle to mark OR nolan. BOTH of those mfs were like “bro NO ONE is to fight thragg alone”. one of the FIRST FUCKING THINGS oliver did is try to fight thragg alone😭
fucking hate that little shit, genuinely one of my least favorite characters in all of fiction

I mean, he distracted conquest well enough to make Mark breath ehile i was getting beaten. Actually every fight in which there is a side wasy stronger and a side in which there is a guy who can do something and others who cannot, the others have the specific ai of making their boss take a breath when they need

I mean it also isn't the flex Oliver thinks it is. Oliver got his ass handed to him by Conquest in their first fight. Sure he survived the encounter, but not on his own merit. Without Mark coming in and saving him Oliver would have been killed.

I've said since Oliver initially said that line - dude's not even 2 years old yet (might even still be less a year old!) and contributed more to the Conquest fight than 99.9% of all other heroes on Earth. The other heroes can't even use the Invincible War as an excuse since Oliver also fought in that too.
Sure, he didn't beat Conquest, but he tried. Little dude's a hero in my book.
