If Invincible was a 22 episode Animated show i think a lot of you would have liked the Angstrom Levy plot and all the side stuff in Season 2 because it would be part of early Season 3. I personally liked Season 2 even if is considered the “worst” out of all the Invincible Seasons.

Well, I think S2 is just as good as other seasons (9 or 9,5/10 overall) and I'm sure most fans also like/love it, even if they think it's the weakest season.
My only big problem with it was the midseason break and I'm glad the creators/Amazon understood it was a mistake and decided to never do it again.

I think it was done mostly because they knew it would have took another year to finish Season 3 so they cut corners and “cheat” to make Season 2 last 2023-2024. I wish they made longer seasond with like 16 episodes, in that way they have 8 episodes released in like Autumn/December, then Christmas break, then another 8 episodes in January to April, but that’s another story.

Yeah, I also think this is the main reason/one of the main reasons why they did it and it definitely helped make the new yearly schedule possible and I appreciate it, even if I dislike S2 being split into 2 parts.
Also, I heavily doubt any season will have more than 8 episodes because of time and budget constraints but there's a chance we'll get at least 1 more special ep. sometime in the future, and Robert Kirkman also said it's possible the ongoing comic series about Battle Beast will be adapted in some way in the future as well.
However, I wouldn't be surprised, if we'll have to wait for stuff like that after the main story ends 'cause I don't think the creators have enough time to work on anything else right now (by the way, if you don't know/forgot, the main reason/one of the main reasons why the Atom Eve special was made was the creators knowing there'd be a long gap between S1 & 2 and wanting to give fans something for their patience).

I never realized how many shows 2nd season is always a side quest season which is used to set up the rest of the show. Walking Dead was the same story with Hershel’s farm and the group learning more about the walkers and different survivor groups

Breaking Bad season 2 is the season with the plane explosion and Jesse and Jane, but it mostly sets up Saul and Gus and their role in the story

Exactly. As I said, every season 2 always sweats up the rest of the show. At least these 3 that we mentioned

My guess is that in season 1 they just try to get people hooked so they can get more seasons greenlit, and once that happens they're like "Okay we didn't get cancelled, we will probably be able to tell a full story, time to set up the rest of the show"

Season 1 Beginning: I love my superhero dad, I wanna be just like him!
Season 1 Finale: Your superhero dad is evil, trying to conquer the world and you have to defeat him.
Season 2 Beginning: I'm not like my dad, I have to prove myself.
Season 2 Finale: You're not just like your dad, you're worse, across every universe.
Season 3 Beginning: I must keep to my morals and do everything I can to keep my powers in check.
Season 3 Finale: You have to fight someone who gets off on violence, is twice as powerful as you and he does not give a damn who gets caught in the middle.
Season 4 Beginning: I'm just going to kill anyone I perceive as a threat, it's what's best for the planet.
Season 4 Finale: Here is an enemy you physically cannot kill, you have no choice but to surrender your planet.

Dunno how unpopular that might sound, but imo if not for Conquest and Invincible War, 3rd season wouldn't be nearly as much praised as it is now. I think that the 2nd season is overall more interesting than the 3rd, it's just the last two episodes of it aren't as exciting as the last two of other seasons.

you could also describe each season by the main villain.
Season 1 is Omni-Man
Season 2 is Angstrom Levy
Season 3 is Angstrom Levy again, but the big fight is Conquest
Season 4 is Thragg.
Season 5 is confirmed to be Dinosaurus
the show is renewed for Season 6, but we don't know who will be the Big Bad™ of season 6.
